Bonar Bradberry and Tom Thorpe were christened PBR STREETGANG after a long trip to Ibiza. Ibiza is a second home to the lads as residents for world re-nowned party We Love… at Space. Tom and Bonar met through the infamous circus of the Leeds nightlife. Honing their craft at the legendary Asylum, which took the clubbing template and span it musically round its little finger. The duo shared a booth with some of the finest acts dance music has to offer, from Jazzy Jeff to Ricardo Villalobos. Much fun was had and many friends made. Many of whom follow them with great passion and zeal to all four corners of the globe today.
The pair earned great respect across the musical spectrum with fans such as Crazy P, Greg Wilson, The Unabombers, Clive Henry and Ralph Lawson. Their unique musical approach, never failing to connect with the crowd, threading Larry’s New York legacy to the Jacking underground beats of their Leeds roots.

Over the last five years, their DJ partnership has evolved into audience enthralling sets which flow effortlessly from Ableton live to the turntables via a piece of circuitry that allows both heads to mix together as one. The duo have a versatile approach of playing that allows them to easily adapting from big Festival stages and main-rooms to smaller basements and backrooms.

PBR Streetgang have released productions on labels such as 2020 Vision, Red Music, Futureboogie, E.A.R, ISM and Wolf Music. They are very excited by a forthcoming release on Jamie Jones Hot Creations in late 2011.

This is a trip up river you really shouldn’t miss.

Raised in Southern Ontario somewhere between Detroit and Montreal, Eddie C began his experiments in music sometime in the late 80s.  Inspired first by Hip Hop and the burgeoning Acid House scene, he began making tape edits of late night radio and shortly thereafter began visiting record shops and warehouse parties to discover the music first-hand.  Record collecting has since been a way of life for the man, followed closely by an opposing passion for skiing which lead him to his 10-year sabbatical in the Rocky Mountains of Canada.  With plenty of time over the past decade for reflection and research in his log cabin studio, C has recently relocated.

"I feel we could call this a deep cuts disco-funk mix in the broadest sense of the tagline. Just a lot of tunes I collect and maybe the stuff I find personally most interesting, jazz funk, disco funk, psychedelic rock etc. I am taking liberties here. As a father of two, I am under hard time constraints. But since my studio at home is finished, I have the possibility to a) hang with my records again b) keep collecting records for a mix over several days. so the mix builds up inside of me already. i go for walks. listen to more music. and then when it needs to come out, it comes out. Didn't wanna play too many people would immediately know in the mix and at the same time, that I can make people fall in love and discover something new. that's the point hey? finders keepers. i hope the vibe resonates, I've definitely dug a bit deeper to keep everyone entertained. Moving home can be difficult, but when you find your forever home, the step over that threshold becomes invigorating. Never more apparent than here in our latest contribution to the SB guest mix series, from none other than personal heroes, Tiger & Woods. 

"This is recorded at our new studio, B.K.S. Studio which is our definitive home. It took us one year to complete the construction work and we finally have our own spaceship. The studio features two production rooms and one room for mixes, podcasts and live recordings in general. So we're very happy to deliver mixes from this special place, it's our pride."

Tiger & Woods is a dj/producer duo from Italy formed by Marco Passarani and Valerio Del Prete. 

Marco has been a central figure in the Italian electronic scene since 1993, with his multiple roles as dj, producer and distributor for many years, joining the dots between the local underground scene and the global one. He was also one of the key studio tutor of the Redbull Music Academy for more than 15 years. 

And talking about the Academy, that’s where he started working on the Tiger & Woods project with Valerio Del Prete, a young talented dj and producer from Rome from the local club scene. Valerio started his career djing in Rome clubs, showing off his passion for funk and soul as well as house music. The combination of their elements created the sound of Tiger & Woods, a constant search for a perfect slicing of old samples mixed up with repetitive grooves, adapting old ideas to the contemporary dance floor.

Mix of the Week #472: Lovebirds - Balearic Mix

This is a radio documentary I hosted in 2000 when we were promoting The Loft compilations David and I produced for Nuphonic. It features interviews with David, Alex Rosner and Francois K and of course, some great Loft classics. The doc was broadcast on XFM and was produced by my friend Chris Menist. I am somewhat embarrassed by my old presenting style (LOL!) but hey it was twenty years ago and I hope I have progressed since then ;). In any case, it's wonderful to hear David's voice and his own words and I hope you will enjoy this as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Loft. Love Saves the Day! Community, music label and event company based in São Paulo. Mareh Music originated in 2003 from its first festival on Boipeba-Island in Bahia. Ever since it has been standing out due to its musical curatorship and special attention with its audience, thusly acquiring admirers all over the world.  Besides that, the Label is running other projects as the bimonthly Babel urban parties that take place in the rooftops of the most incredible locations and Marisco Festival, that the mission is to provide the connection between Brazilian and international groove. In the last years, along with the acclaimed festivals Mareh has also released EP’s from reputed artists attracting the specialized critics. Within its releases it’s valid to point out the 10″ dedicated to tropical disco edits by the independent label Barefoot Beats.
