Beyond The Struttosphere blast back into orbit with the release of ‘Planet Ogo’ on Discolypso. The title track is inspired by progressive trance and fuses a driving chug bassline with a hypnotic 303 sequence, distorted techno stabs and a trifecta of meandering arpeggiators, creating a wormhole through space and time. Thunderous power chords and nuanced percussion layering guide the track towards a cosmic void, echoing with mind-bending vocal samples from the cult sci-fi film ’12 Monkeys’, before a high-voltage crescendo transports you to the Planet Ogo. Remixes are provided by two masters of the scene: South Korean cosmic disco royalty, Shubostar, applies her trademark sound, introducing playful melodies, kinetic arps and retro-futuristic synths that elevate its seismic breakdown into outer space. Spanish new wave maestro, K-Effect, provides a more psychedelic contribution, weaving in tripped-out FX, clinical drum arrangements and low-end synths that propel the tune towards its ominous conclusion.
‘Cosmic Stuntman’, the second offering, is as intrepid as its name suggests. The first half is a minimalist soundscape defined by crunchy guitar riffs, energetic tambourines, cowbells and an array of spacey FX, before the second opens in throttle with a ferocious mid-range bass, cutting snares and cosmic pads that build in magnitude as the track reaches its spellbinding climax. Dionigi, alumnus of Italian cosmic sound movement, remixes the track into a low-slung chugger complete with glitchy vocoders that resemble scrambled UFO transmissions.
The EP concludes with bonus remixes of BTS back catalogue hits. ‘Replicants’, originally released on Mélopée Records in 2021, is resurrected by Berlin-based electronic rock n’ roll band, Tegel Boys, who transform the track into a krautrock-infused kosmiche space odyssey perfect for tuned-in psychic travellers. Mexican dark wave legend, Rigopolar, follows with a tranced-out remix bolstered by robotic arpeggiators and mechanical guitars that propel you to Mach-10. Completing the package are reinterpretations of ‘Storming Heaven’ which first appeared on Emerald & Doreen Recordings and pays homage to Jay Steven’s eponymous book on LSD and the American dream. Argentinian dark disco producer and member of Ralph Lawson’s 2020 Soundsystem, Julian Sanza, cranks up the funk and reconfigures the track into a Balearic sunset trip. UK godfather of chug Rich Lane isolates the original’s soaring guitar solo and reimagines the track into a mesmerising downtempo chugger tinged with psychedelia.

Keikee is a DJ and electronic dance music producer from Seoul, South Korea, closely connected to the Circle Rotary collective. She is a familiar presence in the vibrant underground club scene, performing at renowned venues such as Cakeshop, Tunnel, Pistil (Seoul), and Output (Busan). 

In 2021, Keikee relocated to Cologne, Germany, to study at the Pop Institute of Folkwang University of Arts and quickly became immersed in the city’s dynamic electronic music scene. As she performed at iconic venues like Gewölbe (alongside Curses, Peter Invasion), Odonien (alongside Theus Mago, Shubostar), Jaki (formerly Studio 672) and Dublab Radio, her talent and energy earned her a reputation. This led to her becoming a resident DJ for Feines Tier, a label and party series known for its innovative approach to electronic music. Her growing presence also caught the attention of the prestigious booking agency, &&booking, which now represents her and has helped expand her reach to international audiences. 

Since 2024, Keikee has been based in Berlin, where she continued to solidify her presence in Europe’s electronic music scene with standout performances at iconic Berlin venues such as Kater Blau, Renate, and Klunkerkranich. Known for their vibrant and eclectic atmospheres, these venues provided the perfect backdrop for Keikee’s genre-blending sets. Her ability to connect with Berlin’s diverse and dynamic crowd underscored her growing influence in the underground club scene. Her mixes have been broadcast on platforms such as Rinse FM and Mutant Radio, highlighting her growing recognition in the global electronic music scene. 

Keikee’s deep connection to club music and its culture translates into truly immersive DJ sets that foster a strong connection between the DJ and the audience. Her approach to DJing is as simple as it is beautiful, focusing on emotional communication through music and creating a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere. She embodies the essence of club nights where, as she puts it, "There is no need to talk." Keikee is reclaiming the forgotten promise of the club scene, an intention that feels especially relevant today.

Her DJ sets are playful and energetic, exploring fresh and exciting sounds for the dance floor. She delves into genres like Dark/Cosmic Disco, Synth Neo-House, and Indie Dance, ensuring her selections remain dedicated to the underground. Keikee's performances consistently defy expectations – do not expect business as usual.

C’est de manière spontanée qu’a démarré ce projet en février dernier dans un foyer de Takkadoum, quartier populaire de Rabat - où l’équipe de notre antenne marocaine (sur)vivait. C’est lors d’un après-midi tous ensemble comme tant d’autres que c’est parti en enregistrement improvisé de jeunes rappeurs guinéens. L’énergie est belle et le résultat nous plaît. La décision est très vite prise : ça vaut la peine, nous allons continuer le projet en France et nous devons sortir ces morceaux - comme des pros. 8 mois, une seconde session d’enregistrement ici, avec l’équipe stéphanoise et beaucoup de travail plus tard : on est heureux de vous annoncer, la sortie de notre EP « L’Aventure » le 21 Novembre 2018.

On y chante en poulaar, soussou ou bambara sur des prods maison reggae, hip hop, dancehall ou plus électro. On y chante sur le parcours, avec ses étapes comme le Maroc dans Boza*, sur la souffrance liée au départ dans Sondia**, le courage et la détermination dans I Djidja***, ou encore l’amitié et la célébration dans Samedi Coyera****... Renseignant, avec talent, les conditions d’existence et la pensée de ces jeunes en mouvement ainsi qu’une belle façon de célébrer la résilience.

« L’aventure humaine »

Ce projet fut l’occasion pour nous de tracer un véritable trait d’union entre nos deux antennes. Par exemple, il y a l’histoire de ces deux amis : Makiou et Oumar qui rappaient ensemble au pays, à Conakry - le hasard a fait que l’un a été enregistré à Rabat, l’autre à Saint Étienne - ils sont de nouveaux réunis sur ce CD... Il y a des tonnes de belles anecdotes derrière ce projet, mais rien que pour celle-là, ça valait le coup !
