Carmen is avidly researching the very beginnings of experimental music and ambient, she is constantly experiment with different tools or different genres. Her inspiration are early electronic music, vocal innovations and stories. She's part of the duo "Lip Rouge" and part of the organisation of the experimental event " Zvočni lišp " in Slovenia.

Street Cries & the Wandering Song is a lyrical collage of the texture and life that traversed the little cobblestone intersection beneath my studio window in Dali, China. The melodic cries of peddlers, recyclers and spontaneous scenes were captured between 2006 and 2020, primarily with a stereo microphone suspended above the street or with binaural mics in other locations. This is a remote performance live from New Zealand.

Fausto Cáceres is an American sound creator/collector who recently relocated to New Zealand after living 15 years in the peripheries of mainland China where he extensively documented traditional music of minority cultures as well as the ever transforming soundscape of the People's Republic of China. Cáceres is also the 'Remote Operator' of the long-running Shirley & Spinoza Radio.

Rawa Muñoz, Ercilia Araya, and Arely Amaut are connected in dialogue within the space of ‘Música para tercer paisaje,’ an intervention organized by Miguel Buenrostro and myself during our residency at Hier & Jetz: Connections. Throughout the piece, the soundscape is altered, aiming to recontextualize indigenous voices within diasporic dreams and visions. There is no particular result other than an invitation to the public to listen and enter the space with their silence, voices, feelings, and emotions.

“Stati d’Ansia”, that means “Anxiety Moods” in English, is a study about the dramatic value of the human voice in musical discourse, experimenting with sounds and gestures of the ‘cello. 

A female voice recites a poem titled “C1” by Nanni Balestrini, main figure of the Italian Neo-Avant-Grade poetry, who recently passed away in 2019. “C1” was written with an algorithmic system as the result of assembling multiple texts, and has different levels of interpretation.

The formal structure oscillates around the intelligibility level of the voice, the words are deconstructed, in articulation with the cello that moves in the opposite direction replacing the missing and unintelligible words.

A sample of archives from the early years of Montreal based, techno-feminist, community radio show the XX Files. Initiated by bilingual feminist artist-run centre, Studio XX, the show first aired in 1996 and continues to broadcast every Wednesday on CKUT 90.3FM. Topics discussed in this selection include ICT activism, Napster, the millennium bug, JenniCam, and accessing high speed cable internet.

Julia E Dyck is a Canadian sound artist and radio producer working in performance, composition, installation, and transmission. She’s interested in the possible relations between the body, consciousness, and technology.

Exactly one year after its recording, we go back to the infamous Amsterdam's BRET with our favorite masters of the house Boris Werner and Pascal Benjamin playing together for the Cabane guys. As the new generation meets the old guard, the two provide 2 hours of pure club vibes in perfect harmony, giving life to an eclectic act of party house vibes combined with more stripped-back minimal cuts into what, unfortunately, has been their latest performance before the pandemic. In the hope of seeing them play together again, all we can do is raise the volume and dance to their XXX vibes. Enjoy the moment...

By increasing audiences' awareness and re-thinking radio as an exhibition space for experimental Sound Art, her work focuses on the production of radio artworks characterized by voices and instrumental sonorities. Her practice involves field recording and soundscape composition by exploring multichannel systems to create immersive listening experiences, engage with audiences, and bring a voice to current social thematics.
