Life is not an endless trail of bad news
But that’s all that we’ll remember 
Before I go to sleep 
I will still piss on the toilet seat
I will still take a shower
I will still put in my retainers
I will still have jacked up teeth

I am in bed and I am crying and I am trembling and I am shaking and it’s dark
It is too dark
It is not dark enough
Everything else is trivial
My head is raised up on the pillow
My neck is tight
My jaw is clenched
My shoulders are locked in a tense position
I cannot swallow
My hands feel exposed 

I can only stare up at the motionless ceiling fan
I cannot put into words
I cannot wake up my parents 

Every few minutes another large tear will roll down my cheek
It won’t roll
It will slide
Slowly
I am getting dehydrated
This isn’t helping
I can feel my head throb in the back
I can feel my heart push up against my ribs
I can feel my feet in the open air 
I can only move my eyes
This sweater is a bit itchy

If I never find anyone else in life I’ll be content if we’re still friends
