moving to the countryside was a long prepared last solution for lovely family friends. so they removed all the furniture, put some nice speakers and a subwoofer beneath some schmalzstullen in their flat. together we celebrated their ending residency and welcomed their beginning one. they invited me to play and put some new parquet made of nice and hard sprelacart. who does not know anything about it - thats a furniture composite material made of wood and glue, typically in gdr.

Introduce yourself?

Hi there ~ I’m Jesse. I live in LA, run a label called Motion Ward, walk dogs, love food, make music with my friend John, DJ from time to time, and love my friends and family. Music is a way of developing emotional closeness with people for me :) 

Where did this gig take place?

This gig took place in Turin, which is in northern Italy right next to the Alps. The venue was a DIY space run by Misto Mame Collective and affiliates. About 9 people pay for the space to be able to operate monthly, and the feeling of community there is really strong and sweet. It was a highlight for me on this recent tour I did. Also really loved the people ❤️

What did you drink as you played?

I had one beer and water lol, and at the very end someone brought me a glass of red wine :) Was trying to minimize the amount I was drinking so I didn’t have to go pee, but eventually I had to loop a track and bolt to the bathroom :X (can you spot the moment?) 

Favorite moment in the mix?

Probably when it starts to escalate after the first few tracks ~ it reminds me of when the energy that night palpably shifted and felt like the dance floor was turning into an amoeba 🦠

Introducing Gabriele Bianchi aka GATTONERO, veteran of the Roman scene and undisputed protagonist of the most chaotic parties around, behind, in front, and on the side of the console.

With at least three decades of forays into the heart of the local and national artistic scene and a constant presence in the Olympus of Roman clubs, Gattonero is a true experimenter, capable of madness that for him borders on ordinary administration. 

In 2013, he co-founded together with Marco Ben Saadi ‘LSWHR’, the collective key player in Rome’s current club scene that has legitimized over the past decade a bit of healthy anarchy in a club environment increasingly drawn to the demon of flattening. Subversive and antagonistic like the drones that shaped its spirit and the artists who outlined its character, LSWHR has been a senseless and inclusive mirage of punk attitudes, techno sounds, fanciful mistakes, and visionary choices not yet fully understood.

Gattonero’s hour-long mix will catch you off guard with its jagged scraped sounds, arrogant tones, cerebral rarefactions, no-wave strabismus, ambient digressions, electronic pinball, and straight kicks of the bass—nothing can quite prepare you for it.
