This remix EP of the single "Habit" debuted on PerfectBeat.com at number 7 back in April of 2010 and shot up to number 1 (past Madonna, Lady Gaga, RuPaul and Beyonce) and stayed there for several weeks. It also stayed on Billboard's Top Dance 100 for 14 weeks peaking at 28 and now in 2011 remains on the Billboard UK dance charts. This song which was co-written by Margo and is her first release with official remixes and so we're thrilled to have been the first ones contacted about her breakout. 

Margo, who's full name is Margo Reymundo, a/k/a Margo Rey, was actually the vocalist on her full length album "My Heart's Desire", a hybrid of Jazz/Pop a genre she has coined as Organica. Even more interesting to the dance world, she was the featured vocalist and co-writer on a track by Evolve titled 'The Way Back' that was featured on the CD Hed Kandi Presents Beach House released back in 2009. It was a stand out track on that CD and even at that time we recall looking up her name to see if there was an official release on CD single, but to no avail. 

Her last album released in 2009 was titled 'My Heart's Desire' and was on the Jazzy Pop tip. It received lots of recognition but certainly not within the Dance Music community. Well now, we open our arms to Margo and say welcome to the wonderful world of Dance! We'll show ya plenty of love. The mixes on this EP come from some heavy hitters including Tracy Young, Mike Cruz, Rod Carillo, and Mike Bordes with Klubjumpers. Though we usually gravitate to Tracy's remixes, it was the Mike Cruz mix that got us moving. The girls voice is sexy and sultry. We'll be honest, we had to dig around to find out where Margo came from and we learned that she's actually been in the music industry since 1985. Don't expect a big screaming diva, expect a well delivered vocal that will certainly gain the respect of any dance floor. Come on, the girl has been singing since 1985...she's got the experience to knock this one out of the park. There is a lot of buzz about this track, and it will be a biggie.

"I came to name my music style, "Organica" "Organica", is my sound and my genre. It is based on living in the moment on stage. Allowing the music and improvisation to be a living breathing organism that is ever changing throughout the performance with reciprocity from the audience. I literally saw its birth one night on stage while performing one of my compositions with one of the many incarnations of Jazz bands I had assembled. I wanted something ‘lo-fi’ as opposed to the cloned sounds of today’s pop culture environment. I needed my music to sound like me rather than the equipment it was recorded on. Plus, I feel a huge affinity — love affair even — for the singer/songwriter era of the seventies and eighties. Habit is a collection of songs with a penetrating pulse that defines my human condition of late. Put together the myriad of contrasting emotions of my past two years in a set list, and you have Habit.

As for the title and the title song, everyone’s got a Habit (or two). Be it positive or negative, a habit can be the ultimate distraction, what slowly kills you, or what sets you free. So, choose your Habit wisely. I hope you start with mine.  Margo Rey

A lot of great things have happened to me since the release of my last album, My Heart’s Desire and a couple songs that I wrote that were re-mixed into dance singles by some of the top DJ’s in the biz.

Music has always been my clearest form of expression. I believe it is one of the most beautiful ways humanity can truly communicate – its vibration is universal and transcends boundaries, languages and cultures.
