This is a song that JJ came up with on the electric piano and shared with the rest of us. He's done a significant portion of the songwriting for the Eclectic Collective, and always gives us quality songs, to which are easy to add our voices. When he sent it to us, he had a rough bass on there that sounded like Lust for Life. Ken came up with a killer and appropriate beat, which, if you can picture Lust For Life, included a lot of accentuated bass kicks. So, Josh took and went with that, and came up with a funky bass line. Ken and he kicked it back and forth a few times till they linked up. Then JJ added some funky ass organ and trippy retro synth to spice it up.
  Then it was time to send it to the guitarist. Tez laid down some smoking lead solos throughout, with his signature fiery guitar tone and amazing licks. Then Stephen funked it up even more with a fonky-ass wah guitar track.
  Ken produced and mixed this one for us, and what an excellent job he did, too. This was so much fun to create. We all hope you enjoy listening to our jam as much as we did playing it.

Tonkas and Matchbox Cars - by The Eclectic Collective

It's another collection of varied tunes.

The joy inside us - melodic, soulful and uplifting beats and is a reflection on the joy I have felt in my life. It feels good ;-)

Song of the Elven - this melds a fat bassline with jazzy guitar and sinister bell sounds. Think Santa's elves have taken over the party for the evening and have got into the punch...

Inside the storm - a follow on to Approaching the Storm (on my debut album). It's a reflection on what it feels like to be in the middle of a whirlwind and not knowing the way forwards.

And because I cannot end on dark notes, the last track is a simple lullaby no.6, named after the UDO Super 6 synth it was written on. Boy that synth is awesome... I have more coming using that toy :-)

The Joy Inside Us

I think this haiku is a perfect match with the track I've been trying to create for some time... immediately after reading it I had very clear ideas on how to make it all happen.
 There are several recordings, the oldest was made with the guitar, processed on the elektron octatrack in 2020.
 About a month ago I found the central part of the song while experimenting with the vcv rack and the initial part (which takes up the final guitar theme) is the most recent recording processed with the Fm8 synth.
 recorded in Ableton and subsequently mixed in Cubase.
