The work was composed during one of the lockdowns of the Covid 19 pandemic in the spring of 2021 for my dear friend and artistic partner Milan Pala. He inspired me to a different poetics of the work. I chose a poem by R.M. Rilke and set it to music verse by verse - each of the three parts sets a complete stanza to music. In the second, there are small variations on Berg's theme from the concert aria Der Wein corresponding to the content of the verses. The work exists in two instrumental versions: for string orchestra and for 15 solo string instruments. At the same time, it connected me with my period of "quiet" music from 2000-2007 and significantly influenced my further composing work.
