See and Sleep is a slowcore, alt-folk earworm - a raw confessional with airy, aching vocals over a distorted electric guitar hook and windswept production haze, heavy with longing and regret. 

Think Mazzy Star, Big Thief, Alex G, Slow Pulp. The single features production by Daniel Montague O'Brien, electric guitar and vocals by Barnburner, additional bass guitar by Dara Abdurahman (of Bricknasty), and drums by Matteo Poli (of Big Sleep). It was recorded at Paradise Studios by Greg Tisdall and mastered by Hermetech Mastering (Filmore!, Kayleigh Noble).

“I need to see you, for you to see me. I need to sleep beside you, for you to sleep beside me.”

Lyrically, the song is about the need to be close to someone who is slipping away. Close in every sense, not just romantic or sexual. Close, if only just, in the comfort of sharing space, of bodies existing side by side. See and Sleep is about the emptiness of a bed too wide, empty without the warmth of another in it. It is about regret. Sleeping on commitments. The missed alarms and moments that are memories now. It’s about the frustration of trying to change for someone who wouldn’t meet you halfway, or resenting them for not changing for you. See and Sleep is about yearning: the desperate need to be seen, understood, and held by the one you love, even (and especially) as they drift out of reach.
