I first heard this one in the movie, 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' It's been rattling in my head ever since. I just looked this song up in Wikipedia, and I see that the earliest version, The Good Old Way, was published in a songbook that I happened to pick up at an old Creole plantation in New Orleans a few weeks ago, and didn't know it. How about that????
