Originally from Zimbabwe and now based in Leeds, Junior Simba has cultivated a rich musical heritage, drawing inspiration from a diverse array of genres, including rhumba, kwaito and house music.

"Don’t Be Afraid has become 'a note to self' track for me. I really feel the song gives me this big old hug when I’m listening to it. The words” I’ll never leave you darling” echo over and over in my head and then the extra bits come in and say “take your time, don’t be afraid”. It’s a reminder that everything may have a slow pace and you might need to ask for more time. Things will happen when they happen."
