Welcome back to Timecheck ⏰, a mix series where we dive into old, sometimes overlooked music scenes. This time, we take a flight, high above the clouds, with the power of early 2000s progressive house. ✈️
It's one of those genres, which is capable of completely clearing the dance floor, but why? It has all the elements needed to create a long, euphoric night. Hard hitting bassdrums, tribal rhythms, chugging basslines, spacey pads, mysterious vocals and dubby, out of this world chords. 🌙 In a sense, it is a combination of house and trance, with the soulful, booty-shaking elements toned down. 
But the trax are long, monotonous, and these days when we lack patience, it's hard to find time to truly appreciate the hypnotic effect progressive house can provide. So if you have some time, allow me to take you to the skies, with my favourite progz from the early 2000s. 🎵

Minimal Mood ep.3 - Skylab Radio

Since it came out in March this year, a magnificent 'Sun Chapter One' LP by Ben Kaczor has been on heavy rotation in our HQ and our Delayed Weekend Getaways. 
The multi-talented Swiss artist doesn't look to slow down with exciting original material and several remix works that are already in the pipeline. It sounds like KCZ/CZT co-founder have found his niche in a carefully constructed micro house with synth pads exhaling in long, overlapping layers and quirky percussions.
We couldn't be more thrilled to feature Kaczor's mix in our 'Delayed with...' series. This off-kilter journey has all ingredients for late nights in hazy dark basements. The mix is a well-balanced minimal, deep trip with subtle melodies, lush pads, and intricate grooves.

A kid of the 90s and heavily influenced, her childhood was spent watching MTV and producing mixtapes from radio recordings of artists such as Outkast and the Backstreet Boys.

She taught herself guitar while volunteering as a scout leader, performing expletive laden love ballads around campfires and leading schoolgirls through the dark forests of Slovakia where she even survived a bear attack.

After a brief stint busking on the streets of Dublin and little Irish villages to pay for her beatnik lifestyle travelling to odd corners of the globe, she then spent 3 years studying to be a German teacher before dropping out just before she graduated to become a DJ.

In her early 20s, Marie Midori was self-diagnosed with a manic compulsion for collecting records with that certain indefinable something.
Dedicated to finding the dancefloor equation between musical education and joyfulness, she blends together a broad variety of styles within her sets ranging from 90s infused Electro, Breakbeat and Bass to Techno, Acid & Trance.
