Is The Only

I first heard this song sung by Holly Hunter as a lullaby in the movie Raising Arizona. It was one of my earliest introductions to Appalachian melody. Not exclusive to this early exposure, I became deeply drawn into historical melodies from the celtic diaspora as I grew. I recently realized to my surprise, that the sweet melody I heard so long ago - Down In The Willow Garden - sung to lull the babe to sleep, was actually a murder ballad. Here is my primitive attempt at capturing that sweetness.
