The Urutau or Common Potoo (Nyctibius griseus) is one of seven bird species within the genus Nyctibius. It is distinguished by its large, yellow eyes and comically wide mouth. Urutaus are nocturnal and related to nightjars and frogmouths. It has a haunting melancholic call, dropping in both pitch and volume.

After a great year 2023, Amber Recordings is starting 2024 with a real banger. A 3-track EP that has it all and will definitely delight all fans of slightly harder techno. We look forward to continuing to present a mix of new and established acts in the new year, and catalogue number 103 is definitely the latter.

He´s no stranger to the label and has already made a name for himself with several releases within the label group and his urge for darker, faster techno can be heard not only in his sets but also in his productions. That's why you can expect 3 techno productions here that are absolutely contemporary and sometimes minimalist, sometimes old school and sometimes playful. 

With the "Data Bell" EP, he shows his diversity and how he has increasingly found his sound in recent years, and that's exactly what makes it so exciting. Also and especially for us as a label. That's why there's not much left to say, except welcome back: Birkenlauber
