Chameleon

Music is my way of making sense. Working within its boundaries in a predictable way. When you form precise patterns in your own thinking, you'll find that it's easier to let people pick up on your dialogue so they can form their own interpretation and understanding. And if you're honest with yourself and those around you, the story will usually tell itself - but you may not always be the main character.

A simple chord progression with most of the melodies weaving in and out of the C minor and C min pentatonic scales. All bound together with the rhythms occupying my heart and mind.

Imagine this. You wake up and find yourself in a chair. You look up and see a set of monitors. You have a faint idea you've seen them before and were quite adept at using them; but nothing comes to mind. You haven't the slightest clue how you got here, but somehow you know the exact steps you need to take to progress to the next level. You blow the keyboard and a cloud of dust erupts behind the workstation. You power the system on and hear a faint whir. It's alive.

Good things come in threes, right? Or is it death that comes in threes? Anyhow, this song illustrates three separate ideas woven together with a basic beat. Give my new song a listen!

Day 3

This song is my first attempt at bringing together warmth, improvisation, and my limited musical knowledge to combat feelings of self-doubt, negativity, and impostor syndrome in the midst of a melancholy year. It's been a long one.

Though this tune was created under an immense amount of spiritual stress, it was one of a few ways I was able to meditate on my own thoughts, ideas, and even shortcomings. I'm happy to be able to share this with anyone who is interested.
