A song about my amazing Mum, Rosemary Vickers (my sisters call her Ro) set to be released on Mothers Day 2024. I have the best Mum in the world, she's just an unbelievable person. This song was recorded in the same session as ADHD. I weren't ready to release it at the time as other projects were going on, but now feels like a great time for it to be heard! My mum has always seen the best in me and completely gets me, even at my angriest - see artwork!

I'm trying to manifest, I'm hoping by making a song about the sun shining, that it will actually shine, cause it's about bloody time!

Ramblin’ along with the help of ukulele and simple percussion, the optimistic, summertime vibe of ‘Happy Place’ summons a longing for simplicity and the comforting familiarity of a favourite holiday spot or childhood memory. Influenced by the light, bouncy sounds of artists such as Ed Sheeran or George Ezra, this song captures the contentment of standing still for a moment in this mad world and the beauty of simple pleasures.

Liverpool based duo APRIL MOON met Brighton born Kirzy on the Canary Island while playing music at local bars several years ago and knew that their music styles would be an interesting combination although this is the first time they’ve attempted songwriting together.

Singer/songwriter originally from NW London, Marina’s music crosses genres & has been described as Americana, Folk & Country, while she doubtless draws inspiration from many sources, her voice & style are uniquely her own.

Marina came to performing late in life although very soon after making the decision to "come out of the kitchen" she was awarded Arts Council funding, via the Escalator Project, to record a debut album, Somewhere Down The Line. Using this as a platform she has since reached audiences not previously thought possible.
Now with four albums completed she's been played on BBC6Music, BBC introducing Norfolk and Suffolk, had four tracks make the Tom Robinson's BBC6 Mixtape. Her song Cry was performed by the actor Anthony Head on ITV's This Morning.
Jan 2019, Marina, & co-writer Jules Fox Allen, won the FATEA Innovation Award alongside The Warm & Toasty Club founder, Johnno Casson, for the lottery & Arts Council funded, Memory Afternoons Project. The songs written can be heard here on SoundCloud.
Marina has played many festivals including Cambridge Folk Festival, Strawberry Fair, Norwich and Norfolk Festival.
She has been a Moderator for Fresh On The Net.
