'Lazarus is a man on a mission. The Johannesburg native has solidified his status as one of the most influential artists in South Africa’s dance music scene but is also making waves globally through collaborations with Stimming, Joris Voorn, Soul Clap, Hyenah and Bookashade to name just a few. His connection with Freerange label man Jimpster followed gigs together in Johannesburg and led to Lazarusman featuring on Matt Master’s LP and also making an appearance on Jimpster’s forthcoming LP scheduled for later this year.

'Here We Are' is one of those special tracks that defies easy pigeonholing but which will connect with followers of house, techno and downtempo electronica alike. With production from fellow SA artist Bruce Loko (who has also previously released on Freerange) this release manages to stay super-deep whilst packing a powerful sonic punch. Loko brings his trademark twisted and glitchy synth trickery, subsonic low end and otherworldly ghosts in the machines mood whilst Lazarusman counterpoints with his beautiful spoken word poetry bringing a delicate and human touch. A hymn-like quality shines through at times with glassy, organ tones complimenting the call to the dance-floor.

Shining a light on another breakthrough South African producer we present you with a brilliant remix from man of the moment Nutty Nys. Commanding respect for doing things solely on his own terms, he has taken the bold step of releasing music only through his own website, thenyshouse.com. With a huge following in S.A and slowly gathering interest internationally his gamble seems to have paid off and we’re really pleased to present his remix of Here We Are. Classic deep house sounds are the order of the day with chopped piano chords, vocodered vocal and a low-slung, slinky house groove making for a winning formula for uplifting dance floor pressure!'

Recorded at John’s last night at The Vagabond Nightclub in Downtown Miami during this year’s Miami Music Week, ‘LIVE IN MIAMI’ features 37 tracks and nearly 4 hours of the very best underground electronic music, spanning across more than two decades.  

Showcasing a wide selection of new and classic records ranging from as far back as 1992 (Secret Knowledge – Sugar Daddy) and 1993 (Nicole – A Small Entrance To A Large Spectrum and Laurent Garnier – Acid Eiffel) Digweed’s latest opus effortlessly takes us through a vast array of sounds, eras and genres from what was an incredibly special night back in March of this year.

 From some major reminiscent acid moments of the early 90s right through the years to the upfront house and techno soundscapes of present day, John Digweed blends tracks from some of the most notable producers into one seamless mix that truly captures the spontaneity and vibe of the crowd in one of the world’s coolest, most intimate and unorthodox clubbing destinations.
