I forgot the birthday of a significant musician, and I improvised this piece in appeasement. Maybe I should have stopped while I was ahead. (I also gave him a book on how to cook with vegetables. I know he will like that.)

Turns out I missed the musician. So, I gave the book to a Prince with a heart condition.

I improvised this early yesterday morning while sitting on my sofa. I was half-asleep but just let it come to me. I try to trust the mood and attempt. I love the slowest, least complicated music. I believe that the best music is a series of dots in space that are perfectly placed and that we can measure the success of each dot. It is in our hearts and souls to know perfection. It is so hard to wait and not rush to fill the air with sound. I am unemployed. Is this considered work? Is this something I should pursue as a job? Or am I a hack? Is my music just a joke? Is it a toy story?  Am I John Cage on a Toy Piano or some contemporary among the hoards?

This is a song, where I was inspired to write lyrics over Ashot Danielyan's music otherwise titled "Dark Sorrow." We have collaborated on other songs, which have similarly inspired me. I am a great fan of his. Anyway, as soon as I heard the song, words came to me and I wrote them down, practiced them with the melody, and eventually yesterday morning I woke and recorded the piece in bed. I hope you like it.
