Blooming rye in the spring morning haze
gentle whispers, a lover's heartfelt gaze
great expectations cooled and fell as snow
hearts were ploughing frost in the biting blow.

Winter is too long
summer is too brief
I harvest only weeds
every snowflake is a thief.
The shutters of hope now closed
winter withered the primrose
time came to a halt
the future froze.

Passing peace of the isle's balmy breeze
the fragile balance of weather, plants and bees 
greed froze the teardrops of the architect
eons couldn't heal what the man had wrecked.

The shutters of hope now closed
fallout faded the primrose
time came to a halt
the future froze.

The avalanche continues
buries my thoughts
alone to witness
the last straw
