This compilation is inspired by our collaboration with one of the most culturally relevant and timeless brands, Stussy. 

We've taken dozens of tracks into consideration to curate the finest selection of progressive music from around the world to bring visibility to the future sound. Because there is so much talent out there, it was challenging to pull this compilation together to showcase a progression and cohesive flow that reflects both Stussy and Soulection cultures respectively. 

You will see familiar official Soulection artists on this compilation as well some new talent from forward-thinking and ambitious producers, emcees and vocalists that we're excited about and feel have a bright future.

Our partnership with the iconic brand includes a 'Soulection Tribe' limited t-shirt designed by Stussy as well as a physical in-store event and after party at our Sound Of Tomorrow Los Angeles monthly at The Echoplex on 9.5.14.

Soul Affair Vol.2 contains 10 original compositions that explore the world of Soul deep cuts from 1968-1972. Every sample is arranged to give you multiple sections of lead vocal phrases, background vocals, piano, strings, flute and guitar parts similar to what you would find on an old vintage recording. Nothing about these are loops! Each sample gives producers the flexibility to chop and create their own unique beat based off which parts they like most.

All of these samples were recorded and mixed thru a vintage 1969 Electrodyne console, and tons of other vintage pedals, tape machines, live reverbs, and outboard gear was used to process the sound you can't authentically get anywhere else. Just Sum Light

"Lilli Lotus" written and vocally produced by V.C.R, was created and inspired by black women, their inherited struggle, and their ancestral magick. Named after her niece Lillian Rose, she wanted to create a song full of sounds of powerful rich southern gospel harmonies with a repetitive subliminal message. This is a work of art that is interpreted differently by every listener. So close your eyes, take a listen, and comment below how it makes you feel and where you feel you are when listening. Like greens at a potluck, art is created to be shared. So share away martians, share away :)
