The previously unreleased, one and only LP of Swedish post-punk band Marionet.
The long-lost tapes containing the album from 1985 have reemerged, been restored and remixed and finally, after 30 odd years, released on vinyl and on all major streaming services.
Produced and engineered by famous songwriters Peter Nordholm and Dille Diedricson, and remixed by Dan Johansson, the recordings now sound just the way Marionet wanted them to sound: cool, dark, hard, sad and heavy. The album is a real gem of 80s dark rock.
So, Marionet is back. This is Eternal Return.

Marionet is a rock band hailing from Trollhättan/Göteborg, Sweden. 
Active between 1981-1990 and 2016-present.

The band´s lineup underwent a few  changes  over the years, looking something like this:  

Mark I: Dan Johansson - drums, Ove Flink - bass guitar, Martin Johansson - guitar, Göran Florström - lead vocals.

Mark II: Dan Johansson - drums, Ove Flink - bass guitar, Martin Johansson - guitar, Mikael Bodling - keyboards, Göran Florström - lead vocals.

Mark III: Dan Johansson - guitar, Ove Flink - bass guitar, Lars Merlin - drums, Mikael Bodling - keyboards,  Göran Florström - lead vocals. 

Mark IV: Dan Johansson - guitar, Ove Flink - bass guitar, Lars Berger - drums, Mikael Bodling - keyboards,  Göran Florström - lead vocals.

Mark V: Dan Johansson - guitar, Ove Flink - bass guitar, Peter Jansson - drums, Mikael Bodling - keyboards,  Göran Florström - lead vocals.

The lineup on Marionet´s first single, Ett Sår/Förstår Nu, looked like Mark l, only with Urra Nordberg behind the drum kit.

Marionet recorded a lot and released, well, at least some of it, mostly as 7 inch singles. The first release was a 12 inch single with the songs Agitation, Mental Orgasm and Blood-Shot Eyes (1984). 
Next release was the 7 inch single The Treadmill/Always (1986). 
1987 saw the release of Waiting/Their Truth, also as a 7 inch record.  
The Hangman/Executed Feelings was out on a compilation called Fyra Singlar (1988), so that was kind of a single as well. 
In between the band self-released a music cassette containing the songs I Know Myself, Your Little Goldfish, Sink or Swim, There´s Always Someone and Hidden Colours.

In 1985 Marionet recorded an album, which was never released at the time. 
In 2019 this album, now entitled Eternal Return, was released on all major streaming platforms as well as on vinyl.

2019 also saw the digital release of the single Keep My Darkness.

Late 1989 the band recorded a cover version of the Rolling Stones´ song We Love You, with Embraced as B-side. These songs were recorded as Marionet but when being released, 1990, the band went under another moniker: Cloud Catchers. The saga of Marionet had come to an end.
