This was originally intended to be for a 25 follower special event where i remix all of my songs (pre-torrents) but that eventually fell to the wayside…but I’m probably gonna do it again next year! this will be the last song of 2023 before i upload all the songs i made but never uploaded this year. One of my BIGGEST regrets in terms of music was not putting all of my effort into the ending of Retrace the Bass.
Yes, I mainly made the ending breakdown by myself, and I love that melody SO so much! I've even put it in an upcoming NNEX song, hehe...
But I remember I wanted it to be longer. that part deserved to be longer! But I never bothered putting it in.
Whenever I listen to Retrace the Bass, those memories come flooding back! It could've been my favourite Pass-on melody, but I just didn't give it the chance!

So, today, I rectify that mistake with "Retrace the Bass CDX," that standing for 'Co-director's cut," mind you! as I DID NOT CONSULT POW WITH THIS WHATSOEVER!

Yes, this is literally just the original Retrace the Bass, but with 8 extra bars added! Eight bars so cathartic they've allayed all the problems I had with this song! (the new part's 3:18 - 3:44 btw)

Original Description for Retrace the Bass (written by @powqutybut ) (mostly. I helped.):

Retrace The Bass is the second song in Pass-on Melodies Vol. 6! Yeah uh!! The process in making this volume was pretty chaotic! We started in EARLY october, but it went all the way to nearly mid-december! Funny how that works!

This song is a quasi remake of Pick Up The Bass from all the way back in Vol.1! We found it to be the weakest of our songs, so we thought redoing it would be a good idea! For reasons I’ll get to later, it ended up being a mashup of some other Pass On Melodies with Pick Up The Bass spread without! Moon did such a good job with this one like holy crap oh my god everyone reading this give her a round of applause like almost everything in the first third of the song was mostly her i just did the background stuff abdnsndnsnxnsn ANYWAY

This song was first going to be made by me! But…I had no idea what to do! That’s why i asked moon for help~. She also made the suggestion of making this a mashup instead of a straight up remix. I wasn’t feeling it at first, but when she made her AWESOME lead i was completely inspired! Woo!!! This one wasn’t too hard, but yknow what was??? FINDING A GOSH DARN NAME. We literally just got one JUST TODAY AT THE TIME OF UPLOADING WE WERE SO INDECISIVE LMAOOO.
