Here's a Drum & Bass track done on the Teenage Engineering Op-1 for Battle 21 on the http://ohpeewon.com forum. 

The rules were:
(1) use quotes from a Hitchcock film - my film was Notorious.
(2) get some use of the sketch sequencer in.
(3) make use of the new DSynth engine.

Norwegian producer and DJ Marius Circus has been steadily building a name for himself via support from the likes of Prins Thomas and his Full Pupp imprint and of course the steadily growing following he’s built for his very own In The Garden imprint which has gained support from Nu-Disco luminaries like Ewan Peason, Andrew Weatherall and Pete Herbert, a telling sign of the quality embodied in this Oslo based artist’s material.
Title-track ‘Had No Clue’ leads here, a sun-drenched slice of dropped tempo house fuelled by bubbling arps, choppy resonant synth licks, airy atmospherics and soft bumpy rhythms. Next up hot off the back of his Ben UFO and The Black Madonna backed Studio Barnhus single Matt Karmil steps up to stamp his unique mark on ‘Had No Clue’, stripping things back to a soft, ethereal feel led by fluttering synth swells, sweeping pads and rumbling low end.
The original of ‘Tyst’ opens the B-Side with chugging square-wave bass, dynamically evolving twinkling arpeggios and crunchy drums before Anton Klint’s remix rounds out the package, edging into darker realms via howling reverb burst, eerily unfolding atmospherics and the original gritty bass at its core.

Premiere: Marius Circus - 'I Feel Space (Andrew Weatherall Remix)'

The seminal track "I Feel Space" gets reworked by Marius Circus, another Norwegian musical mastermind and labelboss ofThe Garden records. With the midas touch for crafting cosmic disco tracks he adds extra color and groove to the original, making it an epic journey into space and time. 

Norway’s Marius Circus has been steadily building stream over the past few years, starting out with a release on Prins Thomas’ Full Pupp in 2011 before 2017 saw him launch his own In The Garden label.

Here we see Marius deliver his interpretation of fellow Norwegian friend Lindstrom’s classic ‘I Feel Space’, replaying and programming all the parts of the original whilst adding his own twist via squelching 303 licks, choppy bass hits and crunchy drums.

Andrew Weatherall’s remix follows next, with gritty low-slung drums, spiralling atmospherics and winding 303 licks driving the composition whilst the cinematic melodies of the original further fuel the murky, hypnotic groove.

The release has already been picking up support from world class DJs, like Dj Harvey, Francois K, Laurent Garnier, Tensnake, Eric Duncan and Moscoman

This jam was recorded in 1 take in preparation for the Aficionado 15 year birthday celebration in Manchester and showcases their more uptempo side. As with all Land of Light live sets, a considerable portion of the set is completely improvised.
