A look back at Philippa Pacho’s profound performance in our Room 01 at the positivesource showcase, which she co-founded hand in hand with Blue Hour. The Stockholm-born artist delivered a knife-edged vision to techno during a two-hour memorable set at her imprint night in Fuse.
 
Like a gentle hold, Philippa's narration is as tactile as poignant. Dark without being obscure, musing yet energetic, no one can doubt the decade of musicality that has flowed through her veins ever since. Drawn to sharp kicks or a few clipped vocals here and there, Philippa Pacho's mix is an invitation, or even more an exploration, to a complex and appealing inner world. A stand-out.

Born in Sweden but operating out of Berlin, Philippa Pacho has been making waves in the scene as of late, notably amassing a stream of incendiary performances at some of the world’s finest (and most demanding) clubs, including Bassiani and Fuse. Herald of a fast-paced, no-surrender type of DJing, all eyes set on bringing crowds to a simmer thru and thru, Philippa muscles her way across various techno sub-genres and rhythms with conviction and poise, alternatively pushing classic Detroit-influenced material, Nordic minimalism and more Continental European-informed expressions, as she harnesses the very best of these through uncompromising selections with a pristine mixing technique. Dutch-born, Berlin-based DJ Laure Croft lives by the mantra "keep it sexy." Her sets channel the liberating energy of the dancefloor - sweaty, ecstatic, and high-octane. With a relentless drive for fresh, high-intensity techno, she crafts ever-evolving sets rooted in the genre’s futuristic spirit, drawing from decades of club culture.


The mix is a part of a set played at RSO. During this day it was raining like crazy and my mind was going all over the place after an already busy show weekend.  Inside the club I felt a sense of relief and it was hot and sweaty. I wanted to release tension with this mix and have a versatile selection of happier techno with lots of tribalistic percussion and deeper, more emotional and intense techno. Its a high energy rushing mix where the club was fully dancing and screaming. I was going through stages of emotion myself and felt this response also from the crowd. I love how the few walls of a club can help me release anything inside my body, and share this experience with other likeminded ones.
