Hey all!

Recently, Staedtler held a story writing competition and the theme was working together; what would it be like in a world where everyone worked together.

Because we all know that's not gonna happen anytime soon, I felt I needed to go the Heaven route, because that's the only place we'll ever get to such a point. That didn't work, because it's supposed to focus on earth. Biblically, the closest we'll get is a 2 part split society. My version might be more idyllic tbh, because there seems to be a more friendly relationship.

I'm new to writing, but it's done, not perfect! hehe. I didn't win, but I'd like to get a little something out of this story by sharing it! Thank you for nudging me to do it Sam!!

Feedback from other vo's on it was pretty unanimous: don't use another voice in your soundbyte - do it yourself instead. Thankfully everyone got the joke, so that makes it a success for me, AND of course making the finals where we (members of the CastVoices Users Group) had to vote for the winners.

I didn't win, lol, but I still feel like a winner, because of the standard I went up against. These people are fantastic and no, that's not sucking up to them, because they don't hire me, lol.

I needed a singing demo and I didn't want to use some of my existing recordings, since I got a better mic. I came accross Aloha 'Oe, Ukulele Underground's tutorial version, and I was absolutely bawling, missing my Boeboe... Here is their absolutely stunning version:

I really felt led to record it for my demo, because it is such a beautiful song. When you know more about the song, you see it's not a party song, but very intimate and personal. I really hope this encourages you big time if you've lost a loved one recently, no matter the relation... :) 

I miss you my precious child... You were truly a blessing and taking care of you was my honor. I wish I could've had you for longer, it's so empty and quiet without you... I can't wait to hold you again and see those big orange eyes!
