Biography 

Marizia was born in Rome on December the 15th of 1977. She moved to the Netherlands when she was only 2 years old. 
She started to sing as she reached the age of 8 years.
Together with her father on guitar she sang traditional Capeverdian songs. Those songs she learned from her mother which also sang "mornas" and "coladeiras". Those were songs mostly from respected artist like "Cesaria Evora", “Maria Alice”, “Gardenia”, and "Bana".

When she was 11 years old she participated in a singing contest for children, which she won. October 1995 she participated in a Capeverdian singing contest which she also won. 
After that she got invited to sing background choirs for many different Capeverdian artists, like; Grace Evora, Janota di nha Sperança, Nhone Lima, Pedro Rocha, Eddy Forte Moda Grog, and many more.
That’s when she got experienced and got asked to sing duets on other artists albums and solo numbers on compilation CD’s. 

In 1997 Marizia got an offer to record her first solo album.
For this album, called "Desejo", she received a golden plate. This was totally unexpected to her, especially since this was her first big solo project. The title-song was the most successful song on this CD: "Desejo", a duet she sang with “Bius”†. 
On this album artists like Djoy Delgado, Manu Soares, Grace Evora, Johnny Fonseca, Dina Medina amongst others participated.

In 1999 she launched her second album called "Tao Pequeninh". This album was another big succes, hits were "Terra Franca" and "Tao Pequeninh". This album consisted of co-operations with the artist from her first album added with 2 songs composed by Manu Lima. 

December 2003 she came with her third album called "Daily". Daily (Dailon, Daily is a nickname) is her son which she sang a song about on this CD, and because of him being the most important in her life, she named her album after him. On this recording she worked with the artist she worked on her previous albums again, but also with other musicians , to name Jorge Do Rosario, M&N Productions, Sebas (for MoBass Productions), Just-J & Nelson de Freitas (for Allstars Productions), Suzanna Lubrano, Roger and Marlene Fonseca. And she recorded a medley together with her sisters Mandy and Maryzeth. 's

March 2013 she launched her last single called Sentimento. It's a single with 2 new tracks, and 1 bonus track.
On this single she worked with; Kalú Ferreira  for KciMusicPro, Danilo Tavares, Kiki Gomes, Roger Moreira, & Grace Evora.
It's been a long time since you've heard something of Marizia, and with this single she is making her return in the music world.

Marizia travelled to the different countries in the past years; Cabo Verde, The USA, Angola, Mozambique, Portugal, The Swiss, Sweden, France, The UK, Spain, Italy, Luxemburg and on and on… 

Marizia do Rosário is a singer-songwriter and loves to share her feeling for music with other people, and carry the message in her music to people all over the world.
