Here is the 9th mix of my seasonal series. Each episode captures a prominent phase in my life since arriving to Canada. It's amazing to see how my sound has evolved over the years, expanding across the electronic music spectrum - all owing to the wonderful, diverse blend of local and international artists we are blessed with in Montréal, as well as the relentless support and influence of friends.

Hailing from the mountainous city of Zahlé, Lebanon, Marjaba was immersed in music from a young age. Inspired by the progressive trance era of 2002-2008, he developed a unique sound that marries progressive, deep, tech, and minimal house.

Synergy - the coming together of two entities that produces a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects.

Art can be individual or collaborative, and performing it in both ways nurtures you on a personal as well as artistic level.

I've always seen recorded mixes as representations of my mindset, emotions, and chronological place in life at the time. Here's a 3.5 hour journey through the spectrum of sounds that continue to resonate with me the most.

Deep, mellow, groovy, dark, intense, hypnotic, and sexy - all making up the beauty that is progressive.

I come from a city named Zahlé in the mountains of Lebanon. 

My passion for music is deep-rooted in culture and inherited from my father's esteemed contribution to Lebanon's folklore music scene as a professional dabke dancer and trainer, with the well-renowned Fairouz and Rahbani brothers. I was introduced to the world of electronic music by my older brother during the golden age of progressive trance between 2002 and 2008. 

Inspired by my cultural upbringing, my sound has evolved into a unique blend of various realms of deep electronic music, favoring emotion, groove, and drive. I specialize in the curation of extended musical journeys with the goal of providing the listener with an emotional, invigorating, and soul-mending experience.

I host two mix series on SoundCloud: a seasonal one composed of extended mixes, and a less frequent one named "Deeper Realms" that focuses on ambient and downtempo music.

I've also been thriving in Montréal's vibrant music scene with standout performances at notable venues such as Stereo, StereoBar, and Le Salon Daomé.
