Felix Kröcher has been one of the best-known techno greats in the German-speaking world for many years. Known for more than 100 shows a year, on the biggest stages, like the SonneMondSterne Festival, Nature One, or Mayday, Felix is known for his musical releases on labels like Terminal M, Filth On Acid, or Suara.

After a very successful and musical year 2021, Felix Kröcher is now releasing his last track for this year. His new single "Obsession" will be released on 10 December on his label "We Are The Night".   

His previous releases of the year "I Am The Night", "Passion", "Vision" and "Fusion" thematized Felix's deep connection to nightlife and the start into a new reality after the pandemic. These thoughts and feelings not only gave rise to the idea for his podcast "We Are The Night", but also formed the basis for his own label "We Are The Night".   

His new single "Obsession" is meant to reflect the great passion and obsession Felix has for music, nightlife and DJing. Felix Kröcher plays well over 100 shows a year, which makes it clear that this is not just a job for him. Being a DJ is his purpose in life, his obsession, what Felix is all about and what he is "addicted" to. No weekend in the year goes untried to be filled with a gig. For Felix, no way is too far to spend the night with his fans. Spending the weekend at home? That's out of the question for Felix.    

"Obsession" is a typical techno track à la Felix Kröcher. Straightforward kick accompanied by a powerful bassline. In the break, a warm, euphoric synth melody sets in, followed by an energetic drop.

2017 was quite the year for Jannowitz Records. Alex Stein, Andre Gazolla, Diatonik, Eudi, Flow & Zeo, FractaLL & Rocksted, Kaiser Souzai, Khainz, SUDO, Touchtalk - just to name a few of all the international leading artists that released music on the Cologne based imprint during the last year.And right next to those big names BOHO, the DJ duo founded by JAW label bosses Lars Kohl and Matthias Seibert, arose. In 2017 their journey started. They released their first EP, remixed various tracks and played in their hometown as well as on Ibiza and in India. And while BOHO's journey has just begun, another artist had his first career peak last year. Maksim Dark produced a whole lot of tracks. Among them are remixes for techno legends like Dubfire (published on SCI-TEC) and Oliver Huntemann (Senso). But Maksim Dark still took the time to collaborate with BOHO for their second and darkest EP, yet. Octopussy combines BOHO's and Maksim's ways of producing throbbing, driving techno with a vocal that will take you straight to hell. It proves that BOHO - although only few months in the business - is already at an level that can compete with any other genre-producer. Three remixes round off Octopussy EP and make it one of Jannowitz' most diverse releases to date. Stefan Biniak has played almost all the clubs of Germany's capital (and actually also in the whole world). He kept the essence of Octopussy, added his own flair and a 2017-typical synthesizer-melody that will fit every dance floor you encounter. Refused label boss Justin James already added tracks on Minus and SCI-TEC to his catalogue. His first Jannowitz remix turns Octopussy to a dark and hypnotic alien track that will cast its spell over you and will be stuck in your head forever. Acumen (owner of the label Time Has Changed who published for example on Sasha's "Last Night On Earth" ) serves probably the most surprising interpretation of Boho's and Maksim Dark's track. It's more chill, more laid back, even groovier but at the same time true to the Original Mix. You will know that it is Octopussy although it's a totally different version. Four mixes of Octopussy in one EP. But wait. An octopus usually has eight arms, right? That's why there will be even more Octopus remixes coming to you some time in 2018. Wait for it - the Octopus is going to grow.

Remember when Jannowitz records released “Octopussy EP” by BOHO and Maksim Dark early this year? Remember when we already spoiled you with our outstanding remixers Stefan Biniak, Acumen and Justin James? Remember when we promised you that you would hear more from our delicious Octopus? Well, the JAW family KEEPS ITS PROMISES! Octopussy was such a success that we asked completely new faces to join Jannowitz records and play with the Octopussy. And we couldn't believe what happened next. 

Three of our favourite producers said yes. The headquarter went crazy! The result is nothing less than an entire “Octopussy Remix EP” touching everything between house and techno - just like the original EP. You are very welcome!

Our first remixer need no introduction. Betoko has been a legend for years. There is a lot the London based producer could brag about: releases on Diynamic, Get Physical, Einmusika, Katermukke; shows at almost every club you have ever heard of. Ans still he took the time to deconstruct “Octopussy”. His remix dripping with bits and details you will recognise from the original and new little add-ons - notably a kick as strong as we like it. 

Two words to our second remixers: Township Rebellion. Moonootica's Moonbootique, Oliver Koletzki's Stil vor Talent, Reiner Zonneveld's Filth On Acid. And now: BOHO's Jannowitz Records?! These two humble guys have stormed the electronic music world within very short time. Their tracks always seeming to tell an epic tale from a far away land. And that is exactly what Township Rebellion did with Octopussy. The synth-melody floating above the 9-minutes-masterpiece makes it sound like something sent from heaven. Our favourite: The break - one of Township rebellion's signature elements. “There has to be another way. Stay with me.” - These words give us the shivers. And apparently all of our remixers as well.

Betoko kept them. Township Rebellion kept them. And our third remixer kept them as well. Kellerkind is our second Stil vor Talent act on this EP. He has been in the business for more than a decade and knows his shit. His housy Octopussy edition surprised us by using a lot of elements from the original but still achieving to sound totally different from the blueprint. Rounding “Octopussy Remix EP” off with nice vibe and some new killer members of our family.

Marko Meingast, better known as Mark Dekoda was born 1987 in Munich, Germany. He started to produce music late 2006 and switched up from underground trance progressive music to minimal-techno music in 2009. Mark is humble about his position as an artist in the crazy. He promotes taking time to make quality tracks as opposed to pushing out remix after remix like a lot of Mainstream Electric artists. His previous releases are speaking for themselves, hitting the Beatport minimal charts in a couple of time. Tracks like "Snow White" "Ghost" "Crackin" and "Cold Cuz" where included in the top 5 as well. His tracks are getting more and more dynamic from every release until now. It seems to be working well for him, same as in his live performances all around the world. So stay tuned and watch out.
