BW7 - Reflex Way

A d'n'b/dubsteppy piece made entirely (apart from the beats) using Cherry Audio's DCO-106 softsynth; their recreation of the 'legendary' Roland Juno 106 (which I actually never liked at the time, lol!). Love the CA version though! Mixed with PA's great arsenal, and mastered using the new Plugin Alliance/BX Style Creator 'LA Standard', which gives the track a rich, smooth kick. The title comes from an algorithm used in machine learning models. Hope you enjoy it! :)

The Allegorist - Blind Emperor  - story

It was once a magnificent avian wetland. An atmosphere of tranquility, a sharper light shining on hoary grass through the bleak winter are now there. There was both a soothing relief and tension in this silence. The only dirt path with an intense earthy odour was scarcely perceptible and muddy with wet decaying autumn leaves. Last night had been heavy and lowering therefore the hurrying convoy had to stop and settle down here. 

Walking back the steamy breath of the horses moulded into a cloud of fog from afar. The black carriage with an imposing presence was lavishly designed. Carefully fabricated, rich and expressive ornamentation decorated the wheels and sophisticated embellishments covered the body. Six sculptures of graphite black cormorants were holding a heavy black drapery fringed at the bottom falling down from the top with a reflection of a greenish-blue. The shiny lacquered surface had a metallic touch although it was said that it was constructed out of wood. 

For centuries the shrine had been guarded and now it was only a few days ahead.

"The album Blind Emperor is about the journey, to fight for the truth of oneself, not to bend for the easy, and to find acceptance in the sacrifices and limitations. If you bend for the easy and give up your own truth, you might gain something out of it, but then you have also lost everything already. I think that you have to be in power to work towards your ideas, your truth while simultaneously letting yourself be guided by many elements like knowledge, feelings, and intuition. The right balance of all these elements will lead to the right thoughts, wisdom, and actions. I have explored and told these thoughts in an artistic work, the tale of the Blind Emperor, depicting the mysterious ways of life, musically in an epic, cinematic, choral, and ambient techno album.“

The tall tree which stood by the top end of the lake had begun to lose the delicate white flowers which had grown so prominently and kindly across the summer. The garden of Mukudori was a beautifully enchanting place, one which was untouched by the havoc and chaos of mankind and the strife which came with. Moving between the green spaces the Monks moved back and forth practicing meditation and honest thought. They were but an endless stream of conciousness amidst a troubled world.

Kettel is set to re-release an album on the newly launched division of Lapsus Records, Perennial Series. "Myam James Part I" will be released by the imprint for the first time.  The album is superb.

Decan Of Clear Light

I've been making electronic music since I bought my first synth (a Juno-60) and a Tascam 4-track way back in about 1986. I have worked with singer-songwriters and performance artists, and composed soundtracks for modern dance and theatre. The pieces here represent recent electronic instrumentals, where I’m exploring/experimenting/having fun with music production techniques and composition.
