"On Madness at Sea" was created in collaboration with investigative reporter and journalist Ian Urbina (The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and more). Each track features field recordings gathered during Ian's reporting at sea.

Little Voices

The two characters of 'Dim Sum' are 點, which means 'to light/to kindle/to touch briefly' and 心, meaning 'heart/mind'. 
This track was inspired by Emuir Deodato's 'Night Crusier' album (1980) which I bought at the little Virgin Records store in Brighton when I was about 17. It's music to party to, relax to, travel to, to refresh. It's light but lovely ... a bit like 'dim sum'. Hope a little of that spirit comes across and you enjoy my little homemade snack! :)
It was created almost entirely using UVI's Vintage Vault and Synth Anthology.

Here is 'Weaving Memories'.
I've returned to what I consider my own sound (this time it's not a solo piano song).

The piece is inspired by memories and the ability of our brains to 'weave' (or 'knit'?) those memories.

Weaving Memories

I realize it has been quite a while since i last posted.
Since my recent bereavement, I've been remembering, re-balancing, and finding it much more difficult than i could ever have imagined. Paige was the Love of my life, my best friend, and such a character!  :-D
 
But, all things considered, Life is Good! The death of ones beloved, not so much. 
However, the love of friends and family continues to make all the difference as i am on my own again for the first time in 35 years.

So, it gives me great pleasure to release my first New Piano Improvisation since my darling Wife, Muse, and Best Friend, Paige, passed away in my arms so suddenly on the first day of May(2018).   

Now, all i can do is continue to Share my Love, my Music ... and to Remember and Cherish the Fullness of All we inJOYed during the many years we adventured together.  <3 

In-deed, i pledge to continue Creating and Sharing the humble musical gifts i have been blessed with, in remembrance of the amazing love we shared. 

Rest in Peace, and continue to Be yourSelf wherever you may Be, 'My love, my fair one.' Our Love is Forever! <3

Night Flight

I had this motif in my head that kept varying and transforming; I found it hard to end. The sentiment was one of love, acceptance and returning home, so I named it ‘Your Heart Carried Me Home’. This partly expresses the long journey I had through troubling times from repeated misdiagnoses of a brain tumor in my left inner ear canal which threatened my hearing. After a decade it was finally discovered last year. Pre-surgery the variations were minor but here it finally resolves with conviction.

Through a Glass Darkly: A Prelude

I've been making electronic music since I bought my first synth (a Juno-60) and a Tascam 4-track way back in about 1986. I have worked with singer-songwriters and performance artists, and composed soundtracks for modern dance and theatre. The pieces here represent recent electronic instrumentals, where I’m exploring/experimenting/having fun with music production techniques and composition.
