Los papás de Balam y María se encontraban en aprietos económicos, a la madrastra de los patojos se le ocurre dejarlos a su suerte para poder vivir mejor solo con su nuevo esposo, el papá de los patojos no muy convencido acepta y los llevan a perderse al monte, allí Balam y María se encuentran una covacha hecha de dulces típicos y una viejita que los invita a pasar adelante para que disfruten del festín, pero, no todo es lo que parece y a los patojos les espera algo inesperado...

En esta versión guatemalteca de “El Gato con Botas”, un joven campesino de Escuintla recibe como herencia un gato, conocido como el “mish chispudo”. Al sentirse desafortunado por solo recibir un gato, el joven se sorprende cuando el astuto mish le promete cambiar su destino. Con ingenio y astucia, el mish utiliza tácticas pícaras para ganarse el favor del alcalde local, presentando regalos en nombre de su “patrón”, al que nombra como “El Finquero de Las Lomas”. El mish hace creer al alcalde que su amo es un hombre de gran riqueza, convenciendo a los trabajadores locales para que respalden su engaño. Finalmente, el mish se enfrenta a un brujo, usando su astucia para derrotarlo y tomar posesión de una gran casa.

El alcalde, impresionado por las riquezas y tierras que aparentemente posee el joven, decide casarlo con su hija. Así, el “Patroncito” se casa con la hija del alcalde, La Canche, mientras el mish sigue viviendo cómodamente, demostrando que la astucia y la inteligencia pueden cambiar el destino de cualquiera.

El audio libro de la patojita roja es una adaptación del clásico cuento de la caperucita roja del autor: Charles Perrault. 

Creadores del cuento adaptado: José Pérez, Karen Ruiz, Alexia Rodríguez Y Débora Toledo. Este cuento es con fines Educativos de la facultad de diseño gráfico, de la Universidad Mariano Gálvez de Guatemala.

Este cuento puede ser escuchado por niños mayores de 5 años.
