Jen Woolfe (Seattle | Shameless) 

This mix emerged after another one of Seattle’s inspirational summers filled with dance floor pop-ups scattered around the Pacific Northwest's parks, clubs, backyards, and beaches. Pulling from the sizzling energy of the season, this mix blends tracks from the Campien Campout to the Cascadia Festival, with splashes of Monkey Loft vibes in between. Jen's desire was to make this set a montage to one of the many soul-stirring sounds that Shameless’ Deck’d Out series is famous for throwing down. The result was recorded on her XDJ-RX2 in August of 2024. 

After relocating from Seattle to San Francisco  in 2009, Jen began her residency as a Shameless crew member as a Bay Area extension. Returning to Seattle a decade later, Jen doubled down during the pandemic era and has been a staple in the Seattle scene ever since.

Jen Woolfe makes dance floors sticky with tasty tech house teased with pop and hip hop. Her sounds are deep, dirty and a little tongue-in-cheek. She'll have you laughing in one moment and leave you seduced, sipping on your soul the next. Stay tuned till the end of her set, there's always a story to tell.

Jen has published tracks with Looq Records (SF) and and Get Up Recordings (NY) and has DJ'd at venues across the U.S., including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas, Reno, Vancouver B.C., Salt Lake City, Boston, Boise, Colorado, Moab & Black Rock City.

Hailing all the way from Brooklyn New York, JKriv is a DJ and producer, an excellent musician of many instruments and the co-founding guitarist of the band Escort, a major player of the esteemed Razor-N-Tape record label and of course a man in possession of an impressive vinyl collection.

'Make It Hot’, has been a long held favourite of the Bside Crew, a deep and groovy production with a pure disco energy that can get any party started.

But it doesn’t end there, JKriv has a huge array of disco edits, original tracks, and cutting edge releases on his Brooklyn based label - trend setting and boundary pushing in almost every facet of the industry. His tracks feature in the sets of some of the biggest names in the game, Derrick Carter, Louie Vega, Mark Farina, Greg Wilson and the late great Andrew Weatherall. He himself has been sharing his own collection and good vibes with dance floors the world over, and sharing line-ups with some equally impressive names.

This episode of Bside is a delectable dose of the good times from an artist at the pinnacle of modern disco. 

Expect funk, expect soul, expect passion, expect heads to bop, expect every good reason to break into a little 2-step.

Bside Incoming: JKriv

Mark Johns has been a DJ and visual artist since 1991, getting his start in San Jose at Club F/X. 
He began doing multi-image projection shows (now called VJ'ing) for underground parties in the Bay Area such as Rave Called Sharon, Destiny, The Gathering, Toontown, By the People, Stompy, and many more. 
In 1994 Johns partnered with San Jose dj's Rick Preston, DJ M3, and Loren to launch a weekly party called "The Velvet Shop". Beginning in a small lesbian bar, the weekly event has brought the worlds finest house music producers and dj's to the Bay Area for over 14 years and is still going strong with the help of MJ Gamez. 
Mark continues to DJ and VJ making guest appearances around the bay and has resident VJ gigs with Stompy/Sunset, Salted, and Green Gorilla Lounge.
