Having a bit of fun with my flugelhorn and some live processing by Symbolic Sound's Kyma system.  Use of frequency and amplitude tracking, which causes various sonic algorithms to occur.  Also, pitch is shifted using the Game Trak game controller.

Mark Knippel's music contains a wide variety of influences, from the repetitive rhythmic intensity of African music, to the fluidity of Indian classical music, to the exotic melodic and scalar ideas of composers like Bela Bartok and Oliver Messiean. He earned a BA in music composition at Southern Oregon University, primarily under Todd Barton and Wayne Slawson, and and M.Mus from the University of Oregon, studying with David Crumb, Robert Kyr, and Jeffrey Stolet.
