Today, I saw a grandma
Stepping off a city bus
Wiping down her grandbabies
From sweat and Texas dust

She gathered them up to cross the street
While pulling a small cart of groceries

I could tell she was doing all she could for them
And I thought, without good luck, there I am

Then I realized how life
Can be for some

Spent days digging in the mud
Seeing what could be found

Strangers came out to lend a hand
