The project Funkvergnuegen started in 2003 when the notorious crate diggers Marc Hype and Katmando came up with the idea to mix  old german music live on their shows. The discoveries went from old MPS jazz to Krautrock rarities to obscure cover funkversions and catched a very own fan crowd. The Funkvergnuegen Promo Mix CDs, Volume 1 + 2, are most sought after in germany and beyond.

Imagine you are lying on your bed at night and everything around is quiet and still... but your mind's racing rapidly and taking you through all these worlds and sounds on a magic carpet ride. Silent Rave is an original composition that describes this ride - from tiptoes at midnight to clanking carousels, it's all in there.

Colin first started DJing in 1967 and became a figurehead for some of Northern England’s most iconic clubs, including the Blackpool Mecca, Rafters in Manchester and Nottingham’s Rock City. With more than 50 years in the game, he’s a Godfather of DJs, and is known for being a huge influence on a young Gilles Peterson. He’s curated a number of compilations, including Jazz Dance Fusion for Z Records.

Had made plans to head to Chester for this month, but its all gone "Pete Tong” so I had to re arrange plans.
The 2nd Bank holiday at the end of May is rapidly becoming “the weekend” for amazing festivals, and hospitality in London. An Array of activities, events were given to me as I was invited to sample all things wonderful in the creative, hospitality scene today.

The Earthsouls is a Jazz Funk collective that includes Born74, ONJ, and Mark Paul Norton. Each member brings their unique style to the fusion of funk and jazz, creating music that resonates with contemporary dancefloors while paying homage to the pioneers of the genre.

Born74 is responsible for crafting the beats, basslines and soulful synths, while ONJ adds creativity with the Rhodes and traditional pianos to shape his distinctive sound. Mark showcases exceptional talent as the Brass and Woodwind player, contributing to the collectives musical output.

Having previously released music on Tru-Thoughts, BBE, Acid Jazz, and Freestyle Records, these artists are now collaborating to release music under Colin Curtis Presents.

Andrew Nicholas (Born74) has collaborated with Arema Arega (Havana Culture) on a number of releases and more recently Rui Fradinho (Eclectic Beats Music) and Latin artist Jorge Ivan Martin.

Mark Paul Norton is a member of The Fantastics (BBE) and has worked with Chip Wickham and his current band is The Angels of Libra.

Andre Louis has worked with Jazz RE : Freshed and currently collaborates with Zero T the Drum and Bass producer from London releasing on labels such as Tru Thoughts and V Recordings.
