To the Brim Again is an ode to drinking. Though it was created during (and informed by) a pandemic, it’s also timeless in its feeling. The song is heavy on reverie, with small weather systems of other moods swirling inside and accentuating it. Heath is a dizzying talent on the piano, and the piece is anything but boring as it dances through its different intensities. To the Brim Again is as intoxicating as it gets.

A track I wrote during the pandemic and was written for the first of 
a video series featuring my son (who was 1 at the time). It was was inspired by a walk in a suburb at the edge of of Tokyo.

Wakkungai! Abunai! Part 1 (Featuring Pia Nasser)

Written during the pandemic and inspired by a lazy walk through Akabane, the piece was originally written for a short video series I made. It has excerpts of my son’s voice when he was about a year old. The word ‘wakkungai’ is something my son made up, and ‘abunai’ means danger in English. The second part features more of Pia’s wonderful and ethereal voice.

This is a collaboration with Signal Box (aka Robin Anthony Coe) for the film The Two Sides Within Her by Riichi Yamaguchi. Phrygian Sky

In June, we soared sky into mountain
Edge clear and wide eyed dew
The brisk morning made of promise 
Heartfelt and tame before the play

Come noon, cast aside shadow
Wander dream into clearing 
Ocean being and gate at large 
Afar in frame.

In March, we soared sky into lake
Conquered height and fall
All promise in reach and music at rest 
Still before the fire

We tread slumber on Winter’s edge
Tall tale cast afar
Heart made of cards and fortune
As mountain held the sun

Evening soars high into frame
Fire and sky play house
Smoke takes the clearing
ocean shadow before the gate
