I wrote highway to hell one day when I reflected on my prior years. “I needed help… but there wasn’t anyone to tell. I was by myself, driving on this highway to hell.”

When I was 16 all the way up to 21, I struggled with drug addiction. I wasn’t myself and I couldn’t really talk to anyone about the underlying feelings that were driving my behaviors. 

That part of my life ultimately ended with tons of people I love dead, including my little brother, which in turn led to a dramatic change in my lifestyle. 

“A picture holds a million times and faces. I been many places… I lost track of the basics.” Is how the song opens, giving an exact snapshot of how I feel looking back at that time of my life. 

Like I said, I needed help, but I’ve been figuring it out day by day and strive to reach new heights with everything I do.
