The Alternate - A Mix For Whiplash

As much as I love the film and keep coming back to it I thought The Nice Guys' soundtrack was a real missed opportunity. Why go to the trouble of issuing a deluxe double vinyl collectors edition when the music on it can be found on the most basic ‘Hits of the 70s’-style compilation? I love “Papa was a Rolling Stone” and “September” as much as anyone but they’ve been comped to death at this point. 

Also found it weird that a film that's so specifically set in 1977 (the date's the first thing you see onscreen) features tracks like Boogie Wonderland and The Pina Colada Song when they both came out in 1979. Even worse, the party scene features Kool & the Gang’s “Get Down On It” -which came out in 1981.  It doesn't even sound like a production from '77!

Everything is Connected - Dark Soundtrack Mix

Don't know about anyone else but I'm getting more disillusioned with SoundCloud with every change they make. The new algorithm and its 'recommendations' ignore mixes and any tracks over 10 mins (my plays have reduced by half since they introduced it and I know it's happening for other people on here too), they've removed the New & Hot charts and replaced them with irrelevant crap like "Events near you", and this new UI has me searching for a way to revert it.
