Caroline's theme for the fanfic "Smooth Jazz Fails".

I wanted this to be reminiscent of "There She Is" and the opening of "You Know Her?", GLaDOS's themes from Portal 2 - but with my own flair, of course - to provide a link between the two characters, and to show 'hey, this is how she was in happier times'.

I also added a bit of 'Halls of Science''s tune in the middle because I feel that's very much a theme of Aperture, and Caroline was basically the head of Aperture itself.

A Touch Of Science (Caroline's Theme)

This is something I came up with when working on "A Touch of Science". I felt it didn't fit the mood for what I wanted it to represent, but I still liked it a lot, so I might use it for something else.

Broken Caroline

This is the music for the scene where Henry unviels GLaDOS to the newly formed Code Amber team in "Smooth Jazz Fails". The piano is a modified and slowed down version of "A Touch of Science", reinforcing the link between the two characters.

Echoes of Science Past (Meet GLaDOS)

This music is for the scene where Doug Rattmann chases after Jeremy during GLaDOS's takeover of Aperture Science, from the fanfic "Smooth Jazz Fails".

I wanted this music to be somewhat reminiscent of "An Accent Beyond" from Portal 2 (but different at the same time, of course), with the addition of moments where Doug has to stop to catch his bearings when he briefly looses Jeremy, and the neurotoxin slowly creeps in (the violins at the beginning and at 0:34.) The horns, denoting when Doug catches sight of Jeremy, are intended to draw parallels to the times the notes play in "An Accent Beyond" as part of Wheatley's theme.

I'm not exactly satisfied with this, which is why it's marked as "Draft".

Jeremy Runs Through It (Neurotoxin Dash) (Draft)

This is the theme for Doug Rattmann mourning his fallen co-workers and friends after GLaDOS takes over, for the fanfic "Smooth Jazz Fails".

I wanted to portray first his sadness and despair, then his determination flaring up (the choir at 0:50) and the beginnings of his descent into madness (the familar first few bars of "Technical Difficulties" at the end.)

A Rodent In Mourning (Rattmann's Lament)

I do a lot of things. One of those things is compose music. :)
