This is a straightforward blend of jazzy 140 bpm music sprinkled with a few easter eggs from the instrumental hip-hop world and elsewhere. I was picturing dark rooms, purple and red lights, velvet furniture, stylish women, and delicious cocktails in crystal glasses as I put this together. 

@Chord-Marauders and @SmallprintRecordings, two labels based in the United Kingdom, released about half these tunes. Shouts out to those guys and to the rest of the labels and artists represented here for tastefully curating and producing a very niche sound.
