[04/04/2022] Five Qualities That Gain Paradise & Allāh's Mercy - By Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān حفظه الله. Khutbah at Masjid As-Salafi, Birmingham, UK.

⁃ Benefits from the āyāt:

۞ وَسَارِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
۞ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِى ٱلسَّرَّآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ وَٱلْكَـٰظِمِينَ ٱلْغَيْظَ وَٱلْعَافِينَ عَنِ ٱلنَّاسِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
۞وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا۟ فَـٰحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَن يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

{And march forth in the way (which leads to) forgiveness from your Lord, and for Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for al-Muttaqūn (the pious). Those who spend [in Allāh's Cause - deeds of charity, alms, etc.] in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allāh loves al-Muḥsinūn (the good-doers). And those who, when they have committed Faḥishah (illegal sexual intercourse etc.) or wronged themselves with evil, remember Allāh and ask forgiveness for their sins; - and none can forgive sins but Allāh - And do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know.} [Sūrah Āli ‘Imrān 3: 133-135]

⁃ Hastening and competing to carry out actions that necessitate the Mercy of Allāh.
⁃ Characteristics of the Muttaqīn:
1. Generosity.
2. Repression of their anger.
3. Pardoning the people.
4. When they fall into fāḥishah or wrong themselves they remember Allāh.
5. They refrain from the sin and are remorseful.
⁃ The two categories of Iḥsān.
⁃ The meaning of fuḥsh, and the difference between fāḥishah and wronging oneself.
⁃ The two meanings of “while they know”
⁃ The reward for those who possess these five attributes.
