– Explanation of the Last Day and the reason for it to be called the Last Day.
– The three matters that comprise the belief in the Last Day.
1. Allah will bring life to the dead when the trumpet will be blown for the second time.

The noble scholar, al-ʿAllāmah ʿAbdullāh al-Bukhāri  explains the ayah: “O you who believe fear Allāh as he should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims." Lesson 02 | 27/11/2025: The Methodology of the Prophets in Calling to Allaah – by Abu Ukkāshah ‘Abdul-Ḥakīm. Lesson series at Tower Hamlets, East London, UK.

Some Points Discussed: Methodology of the Prophets in Calling to Allāh – Lesson 2

- Calling to Allāh (ad-daʿwah ilallāh) is the way of the Messenger ﷺ and his followers, as Allāh said:
  “Say: This is my path; I call to Allāh upon clear insight – I and those who follow me…” [Yūsuf 12:108]

- The ultimate goal of daʿwah: guiding the creation to the worship of their Lord alone

- The foundation of the daʿwah of all the Prophets: Tawḥīd, purification of belief, and establishing the rights of Allāh

- The obligation of opposing the people of falsehood and the callers of misguidance, as this was the way of the Messengers and the scholars of the Sunnah

- Levels of calling to Allāh: beginning with Tawḥīd, then the obligatory duties, then prohibiting the major sins, following the prophetic order

- The necessity of sound knowledge, for the caller cannot guide others while ignorant

- The importance of understanding the condition, mindsets, and doubts of the people being called

- The caller must act upon what he teaches in speech, belief, and outward actions, lest he becomes a proof against himself

- Ibn al-Qayyim’s powerful address to the dāʿī regarding sincerity, humility, and reliance upon Allāh

- Imām al-Khaṭīb al-Baghdādī’s statement on the necessity of actions aligning with knowledge and the danger of contradiction

- The caller must not resemble the people of deviation, lest he becomes an example used against the truth

- Ikhlāṣ (sincerity) is a foundational pillar of daʿwah; without it, deeds are nullified

- The rectification of belief (ʿaqīdah) is the most crucial matter in daʿwah, as it was the first call of every Prophet

- Examples from the life of the Prophet ﷺ in calling his people to Allāh with wisdom, patience, firmness, and mercy

- Ṣabr (patience) is a pillar of daʿwah; without patience, the caller will not endure hardship

- The Prophets faced intense harm, rejection, and mockery in their call, yet they persisted

- The tremendous sacrifice and patience of the Companions in carrying the message after the Prophet ﷺ

- The severe consequences upon those who mocked and denied the Messengers, as recorded in the Qur’ān

- The remarkable patience of the Prophet ﷺ, especially during trials such as the harm of Quraysh and the rejection at Ṭā’if

- The necessity of excellent manners, gentleness, and wisdom when calling the people to the truth

- Allāh’s command to Mūsā and Hārūn to speak to Firʿawn with mild speech, showing the importance of gentleness in daʿwah

- The caller should not be preoccupied with the results or acceptance, for guidance is in the Hand of Allāh; the duty is to convey

- Lessons from how the Messenger ﷺ dealt with the people of Ṭā’if: patience, mercy, and trust in Allāh despite severe rejection

Text of the ḥadīth:

عنْ [أبي هُريرةَ] رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهُ، أنَّ رَجُلاً قالَ للنَّبيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَوْصِني. قالَ: لاَ تَغْضَبْ. فَرَدَّدَ مِرارًا، قالَ: لاَ تَغْضَبْ. رواه البخاريُّ.

From Abū Hurayrah that a man said to the Prophet ﷺ, "Advise me." He said, "Do not become angry" and (the man) repeated his request a number of times and he said, "Do not become angry." [Related by al-Bukhārī] 


Questions:

1. What if someone violates your honour or disrespects you, how do you deal with this?
2. What is the difference between controlling your anger and not acting upon what your anger calls you to do?
