[06/06/25] 'Eid Al-Aḍḥa 1446 | 2025 - Abu Idrees Muhammad Khān, Small Heath Park, Birmingham, UK.

- Remembering and glorifying Allāh after great acts of worship. 
- Abū Bakr aṣ-Ṣiddīq’s (رضى الله عنه) first khuṭbah to the people after becoming the Khalīfah. 
- Beautiful words of advice from Salmān al-Fārisī to Abū ad-Dardā’ (رضى الله عنهما) when he realised that his excessive worship was affecting his family. 
- The greatest rights to be fulfilled. 
- The greatest right of Allāh upon us.
- “Say (O Muḥammad ﷺ): ‘Verily, my Salāh (prayer), my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allāh, the Lord of the ‘Ālamīn (mankind, jinns and all that exists).” [Sūrah al-An’ām 6:162]
- “And He gave you of all that you asked for, and if you count the Blessings of Allāh, never will you be able to count them.” [Sūrah Ibrāhīm 14:34]
- The rights our souls have upon us. 
- Giving our families their rights and valuing our relationship with our parents. 
- The necessity of keeping our children close in these difficult times.
- Preserving ties with our siblings and not letting worldly affairs cause separation.
- "All the praises and thanks be to Allāh, Who has guided us to this, never could we have found guidance, were it not that Allāh had guided us!” [Sūrah al-A’rāf 7:43]
- “And remember Him as He has guided you, and verily, you were, before, of those who were astray.” [Sūrah al-Baqarah 2:198]
- Profound counsel from ‘Uthmān b. ‘Affān (رضى الله عنه) on preparing for the Angel of Death. 
- A ḥadīth to give glad tidings to the hearts of our sisters. 
- Advice from our Messenger ﷺ to remain patient until we meet him at the lake [ḥawḍ]. 


Eid Al Adha 2025 Birmingham By Abu Idrees

The khuṭbah at Masjid al-Furqān (TROID) on 2022.07.15 that preceded the 2022 summer conference entitled: Singling Out the Truth Amidst a Sea of Falsehood. Shaykh Kāshiff Khān mentions numerous ayāt and ḥadīth about the blessing of following the Sunnah and clinging to it amidst a sea of misguidance. 

Narrated Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, span by span and cubit by cubit (i.e., inch by inch) so much so that even if they entered a hole of a mastigure, you would follow them." We said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! (Do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?" He said, "Whom else?" Saḥiḥ al-Bukhārī 7320

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ـ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ ـ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ لَتَتْبَعُنَّ سَنَنَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ شِبْرًا شِبْرًا وَذِرَاعًا بِذِرَاعٍ، حَتَّى لَوْ دَخَلُوا جُحْرَ ضَبٍّ تَبِعْتُمُوهُمْ ‏"‏‏.‏ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى قَالَ ‏"‏ فَمَنْ ‏"‏‏.‏

You Will Follow Those Who Came Before You

[13/06/2025] Chapter: The Virtues of the Companions of the Messenger ﷺ – Explanation of Kitāb As-Sunnah from Sunan Ibn Mājah [Lesson 118] – By Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul-Wāhid حفظه الله.

Some points covered by Abu Khadeejah حفظه الله during this lesson:

- The Virtues of the Companions of the Messenger ﷺ [Part 28]

- Chapter: The Virtue of the Anṣār.

- Ḥadīth #163.

- The reason they are referred to as Anṣār.

- The reason we love them, and why it is a sign of hypocrisy to hate them.

- Clarification that whatever transpired between the Companions due to disagreements does not enter into this ḥadīth.

- Ḥadīth #164.

- Ibn Athīr and an-Nawawī (رحمهما الله) on the meaning of the Prophet ﷺ referring to the Anṣār as an inner garment and the rest of the people as an outer garment.

- Ḥadīth #165 - very weak.

- An authentic narration from al-Bukhārī and Muslim with a slightly different wording.

- The supplication of the Prophet ﷺ for the first three generations, specifically the Anṣār.

- An indication that the motivation of the Anṣār was not the dunyā, wealth or authority.

- Chapter: The Virtue of Ibn ‘Abbās (رضى الله عنهما).

- Ḥadīth #166.

- The supplication of the Messenger ﷺ for Ibn ‘Abbās (رضى الله عنهما).

- Benefits of this ḥadīth from Ibn Ḥajar (رحمه الله).

Question: Myself and some brothers have been looking for marriage for several years and found that many Salafī sisters have unrealistic expectations [listed]. How should brothers respond to this newly-founded pressure and what advice do you give to sisters with such criteria?

Death is a Matter of Divine Preordainment

 • Started with the virtues of ʿAbdullāh Ibn Masʿūd (رضي الله عنه)
 • Covered the narration of Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī and Ibn Masʿūd: — “How many people intend good but never reach it”
 • Highlighted evidence from the Qur’ān and Sunnah showing the completeness of the religion — no need for additions  “This day I have perfected for you your religion…” (Sūrah al-Mā’idah 5:3)’
  • Virtues of the Khulafā’ al-Rāshidīn (the four rightly guided caliphs)
 • Importance of clinging to the understanding of the Salaf al-Ṣāliḥīn
 • Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr on the verse: —  “This is My straight path, so follow it” (al-Anʿām 6:153)
 • Hadith of the 73 sects and its variations and its different chains - Linked with Ibn Masʿūd’s narration: “The Jamāʿah is what conforms with the truth, even if you are alone”
• Danger of bid'ah (innovation) and how it is more severe than committing major sins - to the exent that the Prophet ﷺ warned against it even before it appeared.
• The importance of Tawheed and the precise wording found in the sunnah and the Quran.  Example, Surah Maryam ayah 65
 "Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, so worship Him (Alone) and be constant and patient in His worship. Do you know of any who is similar to Him?" 
• How this verse beautifully encompasses all three categories of Tawḥīd: 
 1. Tawḥīd al-Rubūbiyyah – “Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them…”
 2. Tawḥīd al-Ulūhiyyah – “so worship Him (Alone)…”
 3. Tawḥīd al-Asmā’ wa’l-Ṣifāt – “Do you know of any who is similar to Him?” (denial of likeness to His names or attributes)
• Shaykh ʿAbdullāh Lahmāmī (ḥafiẓahullāh) concluded the lesson by mentioning 20 characteristics that distinguish the people of Sunnah from the groups of misguidance.
