From Abū Mālik al-Ḥārith bin ʿĀṣim al-Ashʿarī (raḍiyallāhu ʿanhu) who said:

The Messenger of Allāh (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wasallam) said: "Purity is one-half of faith, (saying) 'alḥamdulillāh' fills the scales, and (saying) 'subḥānallāh wal-ḥamdulillāh' fill what is between the heavens and the earth. Prayer is light, charity is an evidence and patience is illumination. The Qurʾān is a proof for or against you. Everyone awakes as a vendor of his own soul, so either he delivers it or destroys it."
