Composer Lea Bertucci's collaborative works and solos for saxophone and bass clarinet are often layered and processed through unusual methods, including archaic tape recorders and multichannel configurations. Fascinated by acoustic phenomenon, Bertucci is as likely to perform in a club as in a cave or handball court. Solo and ensemble works are explored in this program, with comments from the artist on technique, technology, and adventurism. Bertucci’s 2022 album, Murmurations, is on Bandcamp.

OK.  If this show lands on target many of our listeners will be driving in the sun, strolling on a white rocky beach or recovering from last night's paella and that extra shot of herbs…  So with that in mind i'm going to keep this short.  Welcome to the long-mooted and strategically timed Finders Keepers Balearic Especial. A show that does exactly what it says on the tin. Made from strictly indigenous secret ingredients with little need for preservatives or technological enhancements. 

For our fourteenth feature-length attempt at "Making Global Sound Local" regular Finders Keepers office dwellers and co-hosts Andy Votel, Pete Mitchell, Doug Shipton and Lee Janda use their unique brand of wax-anorak-geekery, dubious dad jokes and mountainous mispronunciations to unveil two hours of lesser-spotted Balearic uber-classics. From the islands and islets that link Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza and Formentera and continue to unite folk, funk, farmers, free-thinkers, fine food and fauna, The Finders Keepers radio hosts unearth a small selection of mid-Med microgroove discs with a trail of crumbs pointing back to the days when the first hippie communes welcomed jazzers, artists, actors and activists to those mythical retreats over 50 years ago. Including our all of our regular rigged competitions (!) and magazine features Finders Keepers also invite special guest and Manc blues prophet Victor bros who regales stories of the early days on Ibiza in the presence of a pre-Velvet Underground Nico while namedropping Don Cherry and the first free music ensembles and DJs to hit those unknown shores in the early 1960s.

Starring Klaus Kinksi, Margaret Lee, and Annabella Incontrera, this film is from a story by the king of the macabre, Lucio Fulci.
For the first time ever on vinyl, this mysterious and charming soundtrack, leads off with a sensuous main theme; a powerful track with great harpsichord chords progression and a melody that really stands out.

Today Is Long Gone

Hi, I'm a keys player and I like making up grooves to existing jazz and latin standards. Over the last few years I've been mainly working on original numbers.

It's just me in the music you hear, I play all the parts off a keyboard recording in midi and layer up into the finished version.

I started playing the piano as a kid , then took up the trombone and played for fun in various local amateur bands and orchestras. Then at 18 went to college and didn't do anything  musically  for many years. Started playing the saxophone and tuba more recently, and in the last four years or so got back into the keyboard which is now my main instrument.

I like making up jazzy  late night music & music you can listen to when travelling. Sounds like a strange thing but I find the most enjoyable part of a holiday is the travelling part, whether that's on a plane , train or even a car on a quiet road with some nice views. Looking through a window with a changing view, in a bubble of suspended time between two worlds, that's what travelling feels like to me, and I like to write music that sounds that way - http://soundcloud.com/markd54321/361-stolen-moments-320kbps .
