BALEARIC REINCARNATION 06. mixed by K.Rise - Brussels August 2024 - Studio32

This mix is from the last show in August, but since we already have an August release out there it's more of a peak into the upcoming September mix. The beginning of the mix is like the start of the night.  A nod to those minimal deep rolling, chugging sounds you hear when you first get to the club. We then have a flurry of vocal tunes thanks to Martin Evans (Brum's finest) who was in the chat room asking for female vocals again (he asks every time, sometimes I listen :)) We then get a little chunky with some solid floor stompers. The mix ends with a couple of older tunes.  The first is from the 90's an excellent Curtis & Moore remix of Sandy B's "Make The World Go Round".  The second is from 2001 courtesy of Bob Sinclar.  I first heard this track on the excellent Ministry Sessions 12 (The Magic Sessions) - Louie Vega's mix.  Not sure why I've never played it in a mix before. AND in doing the tracklisting for this release I just realised that I played a song twice in the mix!!  See if you can spot it. It was composed by Roberto B on 22 September 2024 in MAGIX (initial composition, recording, arrangement and mix), Alex M on 13 December 2024 in Logic Pro using Akai MPK keyboard input (subsequent composition, recording, arrangement and mix), and Roberto B on 16 December 2024 in MAGIX (final composition, integration of the voice sample from MAGIX - with our thanks, additions, arrangements, recording and mix), and released here on SoundCloud today about noon (in Europe), 31 December 2024. Hi, I'm a keys player and I like making up grooves to existing jazz and latin standards. Over the last few years I've been mainly working on original numbers.

It's just me in the music you hear, I play all the parts off a keyboard recording in midi and layer up into the finished version.

I started playing the piano as a kid , then took up the trombone and played for fun in various local amateur bands and orchestras. Then at 18 went to college and didn't do anything  musically  for many years. Started playing the saxophone and tuba more recently, and in the last four years or so got back into the keyboard which is now my main instrument.

I like making up jazzy  late night music & music you can listen to when travelling. Sounds like a strange thing but I find the most enjoyable part of a holiday is the travelling part, whether that's on a plane , train or even a car on a quiet road with some nice views. Looking through a window with a changing view, in a bubble of suspended time between two worlds, that's what travelling feels like to me, and I like to write music that sounds that way - http://soundcloud.com/markd54321/361-stolen-moments-320kbps .
