This is 'World of Wonder' from a short film I recently scored 'I Don't Understand People' by talented filmmakers Luca Faccinello and Janella Ting. The film highlights some of the everyday struggles and frustrations for a young person on the autistic spectrum, so I knew that this was going to be an opportunity to not only enjoy coming up with a sonic tone to fit the project, but one where I would actually learn something.

Production Music Awards 2025 'Winner' (Best use of Production Music in Television Factual)

On 6 June, marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the nation will come together to pay tribute to all who served in the Normandy campaign. 

Set overlooking Gold Beach at the British Normandy Memorial in Ver-sur-Mer, the event, organised by the Royal British Legion and the Ministry of Defence, will be the first ever national commemoration at this location. The ceremony will hold special significance for the D-Day veterans who have returned to France. They will be joined by His Majesty the King and Queen Camilla. 

Within the event, contributions will be grounded in living testimony, gathered through special conversations curated exclusively for this anniversary, allowing us to hear the last remaining stories first-hand before we enter a post-witness era. 

Music will include performances from Johnny Flynn, Sir Tom Jones and a new commission from Andrew Lloyd Webber. 

The event will conclude with a traditional act of remembrance, accompanied by a special tribute from the Red Arrows and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, flying over Normandy to salute this remarkable generation and our nation's heroes. 

Presented by Paddy O’Connell, whose father proudly served during D-Day. Petroc Trelawny provides accessible commentary for the blind and partially sighted.

BIOGRAPHY: 
Mark Doggett is a multi-award winning composer and music producer who began experimenting with early analogue hardware from a makeshift home studio in the early nineties. Fast forward three decades and Mark is now widely considered as an early electronic music innovator after making his name as record producer and DJ, K90.

Selected for the final Bafta Crew and inaugural Bafta Connect talent programs, Mark has gone on to accumulate hundreds of broadcast TV music credits, predominantly across the BBC supporting high end programming including: The Coronation of TM The King and Queen Camilla, D-Day 80, Panorama, The FIFA World Cup and Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance, broadcast from The Royal Albert Hall in London in the presence of HM King Charles III.

Film scoring credits include the 2024 Marcus Mills directed romantic drama 'Elixir' starring Katy Manning (Dr Who), psychological drama short 'Castle in the Sky' starring Jaime Winstone (Kidulthood, Tomb Raider), directed by Roland Manookian (The Football Factory, Rockarolla) and feature length Commonwealth Games basketball inspired documentary 'Home Court - Going for Gold' produced and directed by Amelia Hayward. 2024 highlights included a collaboration of new orchestral material co-written with legendary, Ivor Novello winning composer Simon May (Eastenders).
