ONE DAY AT A TIME

At First Light

An old favorite, "Just a Closer Walk With Thee", done in sort of a bluesy stride style.  I was surprised to find that the author of this great hymn is unknown.

Recorded in Reaper with all tracks except for drums and hand claps recorded analog.  Used the Roland GR-55 guitar synth for the piano, organ, acoustic guitar and bass.  Electric guitar was a Fender '62 Reissue Strat through a Boss ME-70 set to clean combo with a bit of reverb and compression.  Drums and hand claps were midi files through drum plugins.  Vocals recorded with a Sennheiser e945 mic.  All analog tracks through a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 audio interface.

Here's an old school gospel invitation song (Hymn #321 in the 1991 Baptist Hymnal) done up in sort of a jazz waltz style. Trying out a new Rode NT1-A large diaphragm condenser mic for the vocals. It sounds great! Thank you Jesus!
