Have a Cup of Tea & a Cup Cake

Recorded by Monty's Chillum at the same studio session as "Sometimes Sometimes", Originally penned by Rob Rogers when we were called "The Indeks". Mark Haseley (keyboards, lead vocal), Tim Riley (Bass, backing vocal), Dave Riley (guitar) and Chris Allen (rhythym guitar) recorded it in a studio somewhere on the Welsh Border.  Let's play "spot the drum machine" shall we?

The Man I Used to Be

A Monty's Chillum piece. Written by me (electric piano) & Tim Riley (words) with some gritty guitar by Dave Riley (I think?) Retrieved from my 4-track tapes, this was supposed to be one of several pieces on a "concept album" (yes, really!) along the lines of PInk Floyd's "The Final Cut". It was actually a really good good exercise in focused song writing, but I don't know what become of the other recordings during that time - there were 4 or 5 other pieces on Tim's 4-track I think. Suitably meloncholy & possibly reflects Tim's first bout of lymphoma.
