Mihai Popoviciu (@mihai-popoviciu-1) has carved out a reputation for being one of the most innovative producers of electronic music active in Europe today. The man from Romania has established himself both as a highly respected producer - releasing on labels such as Highgrade, International Gigolo and Dessous - and as a killer DJ performing all over the world. 'Fiction' is his 4th release on Poker Flat Recordings, and delivers four distinct  avours to sink your teeth into.

I Should' is a slinky groover, with a slippery, evolving bassline, tight, funky percussion and a sultry female vocal. Working just as effectively early in a set as a peak time moment, it’s bound to get rinsed in the coming months.

'Twisted' is a little harder - a straighter beat signals a more heads down approach, and the bassline is sure to trigger some dancefloor scenes wherever it gets played.

Next up is title track 'Fiction' which perhaps makes a reference to Mihai’s background, with fragments of Eastern European melodies woven into the beautiful synth work, all tied together over a spacey yet driving rhythm track.

Last but by no means least is 'Interconnected' - a straight up deep bomb with echoes of classic Chicago deep and acidic house in its warm and sensual vibe.

Through challenging the understanding of what dance music could be, Mosso sits at the intersection of deep house, minimal techno, tribal, and melodic dance music. 

Alejandro’s ability to traverse genre lines makes him a pillar of XYZ’s artistic vision. With releases on industry titans such as Cocoon, Third Ear, and Hivern Discs propelling his career, Mosso has recently found footing in the deep and melodic scene. His Amatista EP on Behrouz’s Do No Sit label is flush with quality, and his remixes for Esteble and Robbie Akbal further display the impressive recent output for Mosso.

As we step into Autumn, we are thrilled to welcome the return of Mosso to the XYZ imprint in the form of his Promenader EP. British born techno artist Mark Henning is known for his raw, heady, dark and swinging beats and is all about the vibe of sweaty, smoke-filled basements and warehouses. He has proven himself as a versatile DJ and live act over the span of almost two decades having toured all over the world and back again. He primarily releases music on legendary UK techno institution Soma Records.

Mark started off as a Drum & Bass DJ back in 1998 but has had a huge passion for techno ever since the late 90s when he had his first taste of a TR-909 being pounded through a huge sound system. Not wanting to be pigeon-holed, he has been releasing and performing his own unique take on house and techno for the past 15 years but has now come full circle and is focussing his efforts on his deep love for the fast, raw and hypnotic sounds that captured his attention so many years ago.

An avid record digger, he truly appreciates the art of DJing - something that can be heard in his podcasts and recorded mixes. He has performed at clubs such as Fabric, Tresor, Panorama Bar, Space, Rex, Watergate, D!Club, Lux, Village Underground and The Arches to name just a few, as well as the festivals T In The Park, Rockness, BPM, Fusion, Portugal’s BOOM and Free Rotation.
